Wi-Fi is not Dante's enemy. Guesswork is.
Dante earned its reputation on wired networks: deterministic timing and predictable latency.
In June 2026, we introduced an architecture that carries Dante and AES67 audio over enterprise Wi-Fi, a first for a microphone and speaker system. Here is our candid take on where it fits, and where it doesn't.
Go wireless when:
The room changes shape: flexible collaboration spaces and divisible classrooms.
The install is temporary: live events, pop-ups, and rapid deployments.
The building says no: historic sites and finished spaces where pulling cable isn't an option.
Keep the cable when:
It's infrastructure: the backbone and access point uplinks stay wired.
The signal path is fixed: if the room never changes, a cable is simple and dependable.
The RF is crowded: when audio can't risk interference, run a cable.
Wireless doesn't replace good network design. It depends on it.
Where would you try Dante over Wi-Fi first?
