I work as a Product Manager in Schibsted Finland, a part of Schibsted Marketplaces. We develop recommerce marketplaces that empower people to live a more sustainable life.

My mornings begin with either a bike ride or a walk to our office, followed by a coffee made by our office barista to kickstart the day! My role demands extensive collaboration - I'm frequently in meetings with our development team and stakeholders, mostly through Slack and shared tools.

Autumn has kicked off in the Helsinki office (and the nearby forests 🗺️)! 😜
The past few weeks back from holidays have been full of action, as we’ve for example:

👉 Launched our important inclusive recruitment playbook 'Don’t Hire Yourself!' – a tool we utilize internally as well 🙌
👉 Put our navigation skills to the test in the nearby forests by participating the Company Orienteering League 🗺️🌲🏃
👉 Enjoyed our first Afterworks of the fall, and gathered together for Coffee & Buns to hear what our local teams have planned for the upcoming months 🔍

Meet Minni, our dedicated Product Manager, who recently played a crucial role in rolling out a brand-new platform for Tori 🚀

Minni’s primary responsibility during the Tori transition involved coordinating the roll-out planning and ex*****on of the new Tori platform to users in Finland. The goal was to get users onboarded to the new platform while they were facing a big change to the beloved and well-known service.

When working on such a significant project, Minni emphasises the importance of focusing on the broader impacts rather than initial reactions alone. This approach helped her team navigate user feedback constructively, ensuring the platform met its strategic goals. For those looking to lead large-scale tech projects, Minni advises, “Recognise where you can add the most value and understand when to delegate.”

For Minni, the drive to lead and push projects forward stems from a desire to contribute to building a world-class product organisation. “It's very meaningful to work in a company that is making a positive impact on society by promoting circular economy,” she says.

Meet Pekka, our Service Design Lead who makes our job platforms fit recruiter needs across the Nordics! 🍦☀️

Wʜᴀᴛ’s ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴊᴏʙ ʟɪᴋᴇ?
The great thing about my job is that I get to use a broad range of skills doing it. Some days, I deep dive into customer data analysis, while others I create solutions to pain points. From the nitty-gritty details of our user interfaces, to be focusing on the bigger picture of how recruitment works.

Wʜᴀᴛ ᴅᴏᴇs ᴀ ᴛʏᴘɪᴄᴀʟ ᴡᴏʀᴋ ᴅᴀʏ ʟᴏᴏᴋ ʟɪᴋᴇ ғᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜ?
Recently, my days have included a lot of detective work as I’ve been building an understanding of customer journeys and our solutions across the Nordics and putting information together like a puzzle. My work role is very much hybrid and practically all of my meetings are virtual these days, but I try to go into the office a few times each week 😊

Tᴇʟʟ ᴜs ᴀ ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ʏᴏᴜʀsᴇʟғ!
I live in Espoo, just west of Helsinki, with my wife, daughter and son. I always surprise myself by saying that I love running. I disliked it for decades, but the situation is completely opposite now. And what’s more, running is a good time to immerse myself in music (another favourite thing of mine).

Hmm, inspired by Elsa and Anna in Frozen 2, I'd make up for past wrongdoings and strike a balance between the natural and human worlds. I think that would be a pretty good use of superpowers to get us on track with sustainable development.

The 2nd edition of Kids Coding Camp in our Helsinki office was a success! ✨🚀

A couple of weeks back, we welcomed future tech innovators, also known as our employees' children, to dive into the exciting world of coding 🌟💻 This beloved initiative aims to empower the next generation with the language of tomorrow - while not forgetting to have fun along the way 🥳

At the camp, kids learned the basics of coding, sparking curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills. We believe everyone should know the language of tomorrow. That's why we're committed to this initiative 🧠❤️

Today is a new beginning! Schibsted has been separated into two companies – Schibsted Media and Schibsted Marketplaces. We are happy to have been part of an innovative common history with the media side of Schibsted and looking forward to unlocking the full potential of digital marketplaces as a more focused marketplace company 🚀

We have an exciting path ahead, as we will shape a new future and build a new brand to replace the Schibsted brand while keeping the local Tori and Oikotie of course 💙

Last week, we brought together colleagues from all our offices in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Poland for an unforgettable two-day event called Impact-24, AI Inspirational Days 🚀🧠💡

With the theme of Artificial Intelligence, we explored various ways to leverage AI in our work to enhance our knowledge and effectiveness. From insightful discussions to hands-on experiences, it was truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and creativity of everyone involved!
