COMMISSION

I recently did that bullfighting painting on commission. The client, from the USA, contacted me, with following words:

"We live in Tacoma, Washington, but visited France this year and attended a bullfight at Feria d' Arles on Easter. My husband took a photo that he loves, but there are a couple elements that are not ideal aesthetically, so I wanted someone to paint it for him.

I can send you the photo so you can get a better idea of what I am looking for. What happened was, the bull just wasn''t giving up and wouldn''t go down. He lunged forward and a piece of the bullfighter\'s cape tore off and got stuck on his horn. The bull just stood there dazed as the bullfighter reached out and snatched the piece of cloth off of his horn. My husband snapped a photo at this moment and it\'s pretty cool looking. Unfortunately there are a couple other men in the photo blocking some parts, and though the story behind it is interesting, it could be more picturesque..."

I loved the idea of painting this very personal piece and had a very nice exchange of emails with the client. It is painted in acrylics on canvas, 15 x 24 ". She was very happy with the painting as she received it.
