🗣️ BUSCACOLES (noun / masculine plural)
🔹 Pronunciation: /boos-kah-koh-lehs/
📖 What does it mean?
In Andalusian tradition, a "buscacoles" (literally "cabbage-seeker") is a light, refreshing breeze that arrives late in the afternoon or evening during the peak of summer. It is that blessed, cool wind that suddenly cuts through the heavy July heat, making the outdoor terraces (terrazas) come alive.
🌱 The Origin:
The name historically comes from the countryside, referring to the gentle wind that would softly rustle the leaves of cabbage patches in the garden plots (huertas) when the sun finally started to set.
