I grew up in cities. Never imagined I’d love village life this much.

Watching our girls grow up here and how this slow pace feeds my creative work - the village makes it all possible and I now wouldn’t trade it for the world.

This is how we spend most weekends. Which might explain why our house fills up with beautifully unnecessary objects faster than planned 🤍

Spanish markets will do that to you - especially when they’re this good. The Jalón market is one of the best on the Costa Blanca. We’ve been coming for years, and it still gets us every time. Do you like markets and if so what do you most love finding at a market? It may not come as a surprise that vintage pottery is my downfall 🤣

What: rastro / furniture / objects market
Where: Jalón, Costa Blanca
When: Every Saturday, 9–2

Antique market shopping, rastro, Jalon, Costa Blanca markets, Mediterranean life, slow living, market days

Just found these photos of our home right after some renovations…before all the stuff filled this beautiful space of light and shapes.

All I want for Christmas is less. Can someone come and take away things please 🤣🤪

You can plan long-awaited events, dress up for something exciting, chase after moments you think will change everything and maybe none of it comes close to the joy I feel when we’re just walking through our town, laughing and talking, with Romy rolling her scooter ahead of us and we’re constantly calling out, be careful, keep your jacket on, it’s cold, yet at the same time we’re blinded by the gold-hour sun of Spain and the countryside, the sweeping views, the church bells ringing and us - simply together.

Market day is the best day! Not to mention, this entire market haul came to under 10 euros - and I even forgot to include regular potatoes that were in another bag. The best part about our weekly market shop is that we never really know what we’ll end up with, which gives us a lovely sense of freedom when it comes to cooking. It’s almost like the produce decides our meals for us!

Planning to make an aubergine coconut curry from this batch, have avocados with scrambled eggs in the mornings, and roast the sweet potatoes - some for baby food for Lola, and the rest for us.✨
