We are championing innovation in the face of drought! 💧

To mark World Water Week, we are putting one of our most precious resources under the spotlight. Protecting it demands real solutions to water scarcity. That is why we are actively collaborating on the Smart BioFert project, a key initiative aimed at optimising agricultural irrigation.

By promoting more resilient crops and soil that retains moisture better through biofertilisers and digital tools, the project safeguards our aquifers. Together, we are combining effort and technology to guarantee truly sustainable agriculture with every drop. 🤖🌱

This joint project (PLSQ_00160_1) alongside the University of Granada, CIDAF, Herogra Group, Eurocastell, and OnTech Innovation is funded by the Junta de Andalucía (Regional Government of Andalusia) – Ministry of University, Research and Innovation, within the framework of the Sequía Andalucía call. It is financed by the ERDF (FEDER) Andalusia 2021-2027 programme and proprietary resources, and has been designed in accordance with the guidelines of the Andalusian Research, Development and Innovation Strategy (EIDIA) 2021-2027 and the Smart Specialisation Strategy for the Sustainability of Andalusia, S4 Andalusia.

Smart BioFert continues to move forward! 📈

The meeting took place at the CIDAF laboratories, where we toured their workspaces. There, the project team presented the results achieved after the first campaign and outlined the next steps. Furthermore, we had a cherry tomato tasting session to evaluate their parameters as a fruit. 🍅

We are moving forward steadily with Smart BioFert! This joint project (PLSQ_00160_1)—in collaboration with the University of Granada, CIDAF Technological Center, Herogra Group, Grupo La Caña Eurocastell, and onTech Innovation—is funded by the Regional Government of Andalusia (Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation). Smart BioFert continues to make progress! 🌱

In this joint project, we are contributing our expertise in the bespoke development of digital solutions. In this instance, it involves a platform built specifically to collect data. This allows the results to be quantified, providing an overview of the condition of the plants used in the research.

Once applied to the crops, the biofertilisers are analysed by gathering data from the fertilised plants to determine their impact on fruit quality. The objective is to improve the condition of these crops in a more efficient and environmentally friendly manner. 💧

En este proyecto conjunto, participamos aportando nuestra capacidad de desarrollo a medida de soluciones digitales. En este caso, se trata de una plataforma construida específicamente para recopilar los datos. Así se cuantifican los resultados para tener una visión del estado de los vegetales utilizados en la investigación.

Los biofertilizantes, una vez aplicados a los cultivos, son analizados tomando datos de las plantas fertilizadas para recoger datos sobre su impacto en la calidad del fruto. El objetivo es la mejora del estado de dichos cultivos de forma más eficiente y medioambiental. 💧
