🚀 We’re absolutely thrilled to announce a brand-new venture 🚀
Introducing Monster Astronomy Design - a new UK-based company dedicated to developing next-generation astronomy products.
MAD brings JTW’s engineering and manufacturing expertise together with decades of experience in retail and remote hosting, allowing us to design exciting new hardware that’s not only innovative, but built for real-world use—whether local or fully remote.
The first MAD product (see what we did there?) is the Strzyga harmonic drive mount, featuring AntiGrav™ robotic polar alignment.
This mount is the result of 12 months of intensive R&D behind the scenes, and we’re incredibly proud of it. The AntiGrav™ system is unique and has some very slick engineering under the hood.
Key features:
🔥 40 kg payload capacity — no cumbersome counterweights required
🔥 AntiGrav™ Robotic polar alignment
🔥 Optional Renishaw encoders
🔥 Onboard everything — data and power issues are a thing of the past
🔥 A true one-box solution — every adapter and accessory included, nothing else to buy
🔥 Officially licensed OnStepX open source control system, we’re proud to support and give back to the community
🔥 95% EU-manufactured, with only a small number of imported boards and components
Built with the same philosophy as our Trident series, the Strzyga includes the full suite of remote safety systems you’d expect, runs OnStepX (the best open-source control system out there), and delivers a feature set designed to make astrophotography simpler, safer, and more reliable.
📅 Orders open May 1st
In the meantime, we’ll be sharing photos and videos of the Strzyga in operation across JTW social media and the brand-new MAD channels—so keep an eye out.
This is just the beginning. 🚀🚀🚀
