An icon’s design doesn’t end with the drawing.
At Forma Icons, we’ve developed our own tools to analyse how icons are constructed, including anchor points, Bézier curves, coordinates, tangencies, stroke widths, radii, alignments and optical margins. They also allow us to detect duplicate points, open paths, overlaps, irregularities and elements sitting outside the grid.
For larger icon systems, this automated quality control helps us apply the same criteria across every icon, detect errors and maintain consistency throughout the entire set.
