The IPTV market share is rapidly growing whereas the cable TV market is shrinking.
The number of IPTV subscribers was 40 million, which is 6.1% of all pay broadcast subscribers in the world, at the end of
2010. It is fast eroding the Satellite TV services and we predict that in the next 10 years majority of satellite services will begin
to collapse in favour of Internet TV. Internet speeds are increasing and with the prospect of Fibre Broadband services at 30 Mbps
IPTV will be the first choice for consumers.
Not only does IPTV provide FTA channels, it provides encrypted channels as well including Sports, Documentaries and UK TV services.
A logical move for IPTV is the easy use of 'Catchup TV' 7 day catch up of favourite channels plus the new added 'Box Sets'
sub-divided into Seasons then Episodes supplying thousands of 'On demand' episodes.
On demand is the new buzz word and with it you can watch Movies.
Our systems can now provide over 170 TV channels, Over 600 movies (updated each month) 250 Box Sets

prices start at 275.00€ and 299.00€ including 7 day catch-up/Box Sets including 1st year subscription

You have streaming problems/ freezing /Stuttering with your IPTV Box....

Your IPTV box will work with a stable ADSL connection of 2.00 Mb/s or more. Microwave connections can be unreliable do to the frequencies used
If your ISP uses 2.4 Ghz then your house or apartment is saturated with radio waves inconceivable numbers of them, in fact, vibrating forth from
radio stations, TV stations, cellular towers. You’re being bombarded, constantly, with electromagnetic waves of all kind of frequencies, many of which have been
encoded with specific information, whether it be a voice, a tone, or digital data.
The basis is that if your ISP is using this frequency then expect problems!
If you need to improve your service please contact your internet service provider because if you ar using other internet connected devices in your home then this will affect your IPTV service by reducing your bandwidth. (6 MGhz or above is recommended).
Also, if you do a speedtest the results will show the download speed at that moment in time only, if your ISP is under stress due to high demand then your
speed may vary astronomically the results are intermittant connection problems to your IPTV box.
Please Note the Downloading Speed is not a guide to how good your provider is or whether your IPTV box is working OK, you are STREAMING "NOT Downloading" you need Bandwidth and it must be consistant, if your provider reduces your Bandwidth below 2.0Mb/s you can get stutter or loss of picture.
You are watching live TV from the Internet called Multicasting which means that your TV service provider is uploading multiple channels (possibly over 100 of them live)
It relies upon the World wide web to get these services to you and once it has left their servers it is out of their control, we all have to rely upon the miriad
of servers your service has to travel through and if everything is equal then you will get a continous reliable service, if there is any problems on the way
including your local IPS's back office then there will be delays and this will affect your service!
Watch out for Bandwidth Throttling..
Bandwidth throttling is the intentional slowing of Internet service by your Internet service provider ISP, they will deny it but they do do it
go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandwidth_throttling for more info. If you are a high user and you will be if you are streming live TV then you will be at the top
of the list to be throttled!
Another important issue is the time delay in connection to your TV service Please also read below about latency.
Latency
Internet speeds are quoted for download and upload and these figures are usually given in Megabits per second (Mbps)
However this is only part of the picture. This speed gives you an idea of the speed of your connection but is doesn’t tell you about latency, this is a time delay
from one point to another.
This figure gives no indication of whether the data has travelled by the most direct route, if direct that is good but in reality it doesn't the journey is going to
take longer.
So with network traffic you might have a fast Internet connection but but if the route between your computer and the server being accessed is indirect then
delays will be incurred.
Latency is a true indicator of whether network traffic has taken the shortest possible route and is frequently misunderstood.
Good performance is generally defined by a latency of less than 100 milliseconds (ms) or 0.10 second.
If the time it takes for a message to travel from your computer to your server is less than 100ms then excellent but if the time is greater than this,
then your performance will be affected.
You can test it by either using speedtest.net but a more accurate way is to do the following..
Windows 7 PC click on the Start button and in the box that says “Search programs and files” type cmd and press enter.
On a Windows XP machine again go to the Start button but this time choose Run.
In this box type cmd
press enter button
Next type..
ping test.hostediteservices.com
and press enter button
The results will show you the Latecy time in milliseconds below 100ms is good above means you could have a problem with your network connection.
What to do about it is difficult, if it is constantly above 100ms then contact your ISP, if it is not then you will have to live with it! and experience intermittant problems with your streaming service.

Bandwidth throttling is the intentional slowing of Internet service by an Internet service provider. It is a reactive measure employed in communication networks in an apparent attempt to regulate network traffic and minimize bandwidth congestion. Bandwidth throttling can occur at different locations…

Now we only have one user that is still complaining about the issue with OLE. OLE don't seem to either understand or they can't solve the issue. It is only OLE customers that have reported issues with loss of smooth streaming. It is only the Multicast live streaming that is affected.

Intermittent problems receiving continuous streaming of the IPTV service.
There seems to be a misconception about these intermittent issues. Some customers seem to think that during picture freezing and Stuttering/Freezing is a speed issue. This is only partly true, checking their speed and finding it is above the minimal (2Mbps) some tend to blame the IPTV box. We have to state that there is over 3,500 in operation in Spain and associated areas and not one box has been found to be faulty. The TV service is 99% on line and streams TV flawlessly. The problem usually is multicast streaming issues with your local ISP. See previous posts re: OLE.

OLE and multicast service on the IPTV box....
This appears to have been solved, any updates we will post here

Loss of IPTV on all OLE clients.........

IPTV TV uses “Multi-Casting” to deliver their service to its clients.

Multicasting is used by IPTV systems service providers to provide 1 x TV service or multiple TV services to a multitude of clients at the same time.

Each IPTV decoder receives a TV service which reaches them by multiple paths through the internet and not a dedicated path, they are streamed as small packets of Data.. Each packet only contains a few seconds of watchable video and waits for the 2nd packet to arrive before it is displayed on the TV screen, this is a continuous process and the client views a smooth TV service.
If the first packet is received OK and the 2nd packet is delayed because it has taken a different path the picture will freeze until it has received this packet.
The main structure of the Internet is built up of servers, computers, data switches and routers. These pieces of equipment usually talk to each other with ease.
Each router makes a copy of the data and redistributes it into the internet.
Normally this is flawless but when it reaches your local ISP and there is a problem with their hardware/software etc then this is where an issue starts and the packets aren't delivered to their destination.
So, if your internet speed is OK (more than a stable 2 Mbps) and your PC works OK on the Internet then there will be an issue with the Multicasting service, contact your ISP provider

If your Movies work OK then this is a VoD service and uses a different service called "Unicast" 1 x Service and 1 x client
