Payroll errors start at the fingerprint device. Nexus reconciles them before anyone approves.

In most companies, attendance and payroll live in two places. The device exports a sheet, HR fixes it by hand, finance re-types it, and the mistakes surface on payday as complaints.

In Nexus they are one module on one dataset:
- Shift rosters across sites, with coverage and gap analysis
- Attendance from fingerprint and face devices, plus location-checked mobile check-in
- Daily exceptions: missing punches, late, absent, flagged the same day
- Overtime, leave and public holidays applied by your own policy
- Salaries, allowances, deductions, social insurance, tax and end-of-service
- Mid-month joiners and leavers pro-rated automatically
- Payroll reconciled against attendance before approval, then payslips generated and distributed

No export, no re-keying, no reconciliation spreadsheet.

Built for operations where hundreds of people change shift every week. Running 24/7 today in a national quick-commerce operator's call centres.

Everything an ERP promised. Without the ERP project.

Today we open Nexus, our Corporate Operations Management application, to the market.

The usual ERP project runs about a year before anyone uses it, then a consultant for every change. Nexus is a finished product: deployed, configured to your structure on screen, and your team is working in it the next day.

Twelve modules on one dataset:
- People and HR, recruitment, scheduling and attendance, payroll
- CRM with WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram in one shared inbox
- Sales, purchases, warehouse and assets
- Service desk, documents and e-signature, finance with ETA e-invoicing, projects and dashboards

Nothing is typed twice. A change in one place is a change everywhere, with the audit trail to prove it.

Proven, not promised: load-validated beyond 10,000 concurrent users, running 24/7 in a national quick-commerce operator's call centres, and running Stark Technology itself.

On our cloud, inside your own data centre, or split between the two. Egyptian data residency where the law or your contract requires it.

Ask us for a demonstration. We show it running on your own process, not a slide deck.

Antivirus installed is not protection. A managed policy on every laptop is.

Most companies can say "we have Kaspersky". Far fewer can answer three follow-up questions: which laptops are not reporting in, which ones are months behind on updates, and who can plug in a USB drive and walk out with the customer list.

What a managed endpoint policy actually controls:

1. Coverage - every company device appears in one console, and a laptop that stops reporting raises an alert.
2. Device control - USB storage blocked by default, with approved exceptions written down.
3. Encryption - full-disk encryption, so a lost laptop is a hardware loss, not a data breach.
4. No local admin - users cannot install software or switch protection off.
5. Updates and patches - pushed centrally, not left to each user.

Buying the licence takes a day. The protection comes from the policy, and from someone watching the console every week.

We deploy and manage Kaspersky endpoint security for businesses across Egypt - licensing, rollout, policy design and day-to-day management.

Your company email. Who holds the admin keys?

One question worth asking this week: who has the Global Administrator account for your Microsoft 365?

Too often the answer is "the company that set it up", "an employee who has since left", or "we are not sure". Everything works - until the day you need that account.

What the admin account decides:

1. Whether you can lock a leaver out of their mailbox the same day they leave.
2. Whether you can switch on MFA and security settings for every user.
3. Whether you can recover a hacked or deleted mailbox.
4. Whether you can change provider on your terms, not someone else's.

The fix is small:
- At least two admin accounts owned by the company - not by one person, not by a supplier.
- MFA on both, and the credentials stored somewhere safe.
- Daily work done from normal user accounts, never from the admin one.

We set up and run business email for companies in Egypt: Microsoft 365 licences invoiced locally, and full admin rights kept with you.

48 ports of PoE. Not 48 devices.

A 48-port PoE+ switch has a power budget, and it is almost never 48 x 30W.

A typical enterprise access switch ships with a few hundred watts of PoE budget. PoE+ devices ask for up to 30W each. Do the arithmetic and the power runs out long before the sockets do.

What that looks like on site: the last few access points come up, then drop. A camera reboots in a loop at dusk, when its infrared illuminator cuts in. A desk phone works fine until someone plugs a hungrier device in two ports along. Nothing in the log says "you bought the wrong model" - it says a port was denied power.

Four questions before you sign the order:

1. What is the total PoE budget in watts, not the port count?
2. What class is each device - 15.4W, 30W, 60W, 90W?
3. What is the worst-case simultaneous draw, including PTZ cameras with heaters and IR?
4. Is the power supply upgradeable, or is the budget fixed for the life of the switch?

On a PoE switch the specification that matters is watts. Ports are the easy part.

The domain was one letter different. Everything else was perfect.

This week a company we had never heard of filled in our website contact form. Professional English. A real head-office address. The right corporate logo in the signature. A phone number that dials.

We replied with the four questions we ask any new corporate account: registered company name and number, which subsidiary the requirement sits under, the scope, and whether they operate a formal vendor-registration process.

They answered none of them. Instead they asked us to sign an NDA before they would tell us anything — to be delivered through a "secure document portal", from a "Legal Department copied on this email".

Nobody was copied on the email.

Four tells, all checkable in under five minutes:

1. The sending domain was the real company's name with one extra letter. The link in their own signature pointed at the real domain. The mail did not come from it.
2. The mailto behind that signature carried a different person's name from the one signing.
3. The "Legal Department copied on this email" was not on the email.
4. The template referred to our "logistics capabilities". We are an IT company.

What makes this work is not technical sophistication. It is that the approach is flattering, polite, and lands at a company that wants new business.

The controls that stop it are boring: verify a new counterparty out of band, on a number you looked up yourself and never the one in the email; require a company-domain address before any document is exchanged; and make a second person approve every change to bank details, every time.

The technical layer underneath — SPF, DKIM, DMARC enforcement, external-sender warnings, impersonation protection — is what we configure for clients.

The camera was recording. Nobody could find the clip.

The incident happened on a Thursday. The request came the following Tuesday. By then the system had overwritten it, because nobody had ever asked the one question that decides a CCTV design: how many days do you need to keep?

That number sets the storage. Not the megapixel count on the box.

What we actually find on sites we are called in to fix:

1. Storage sized by a round number — 1TB, 256GB — instead of by retention days x cameras x resolution x frame rate.
2. High-resolution cameras left at a frame rate nobody checked, so the disk fills in a fortnight.
3. Nobody has ever tested an export. The first attempt is the day it matters, under pressure, in front of someone senior.
4. Cameras aimed at doorways instead of at faces. A wide shot of a corridor identifies nobody.

Before you sign a CCTV quotation, ask three questions: how many days will this keep at the settings you are proposing, who can export a clip and how long does it take, and what happens to recording when a disk fails.

If those answers are not in the quotation, it is a parts list, not a system.

One more engineer covers Tuesday. Nobody is covering 2 a.m.

Most IT teams we meet in Egypt are not understaffed. They are unevenly staffed. The rota is one person deep, so the business is fine right up until that person is on leave, in a meeting, or asleep.

Adding headcount does not fix that. It moves the gap.

Managed IT is not a cheaper engineer. It is cover: a rota, an escalation path, and somebody accountable at the hour nobody in the office wants to work. Stark has been running that cover since 2016, on site across Egypt and Saudi Arabia and remotely across the Gulf, Africa, Europe and the United States.

Before you sign with anyone, ask three questions:

1. Who answers at 2 a.m., by name and by rota, not "the team".
2. What happens when the first responder does not pick up.
3. What you are still expected to do yourselves.

If the answers are vague, you are buying a phone number, not cover.

Everyone can move the mailboxes. Nobody wants the Monday after.

Cutover night is the easy part. The real test is Monday morning. Does Outlook reconnect on its own? Do the shared mailboxes still open? Does the scanner still send to email? Do the phones stop asking for a password?

That is what we plan before the first mailbox moves: mail flow and DNS cutover, autodiscover, shared mailboxes and calendars, device and app profiles, and the scan-to-email nobody remembers until it breaks.

A Microsoft 365 migration is judged on the first working morning, not on the cutover night.

The cable works. Nobody knows which one it is.

Every rack we are called to fix has the same story. It was installed under time pressure, it worked on the day, and nobody wrote anything down. Two years later a port goes dark and four people spend an afternoon tracing one cable by hand.

Structured cabling is not neat bundles in a photograph. It is what happens on the worst day:

- Every patch lead labelled at both ends, matching a port map somebody can find
- Copper and fibre certified and tested, with the results kept
- Cable management that lets you pull one lead without disturbing forty
- Separation from power, and enough slack to re-terminate twice
- A documented as-built, handed over, so the next engineer does not start from nothing

The test is simple. Ask whoever installed your last rack which port serves the meeting room. If the answer takes more than thirty seconds, you did not buy a cabling job. You bought a future outage with a nice photograph.

We design, install, certify and document structured cabling across Egypt - offices, factories, hotels and data centres.
