One of the most dangerous assumptions in cybersecurity today is:

“If the app is on the App Store, it must be safe.”

A recent report from Kaspersky identified more than 26 fake crypto wallet applications on Apple’s official App Store impersonating popular wallets such as MetaMask, Ledger, and Trust Wallet in order to steal users’ seed phrases and gain full access to their digital assets.

What makes this campaign more concerning is that the apps themselves did not initially contain obvious malware. Instead, attackers used a more advanced trust based attack chain:

Building legitimacy through the App Store

Redirecting users to fake Apple Store-like pages

Installing trojanized wallet applications outside the store

Harvesting recovery phrases and wallet credentials

This reflects a major shift in modern cyberattacks:

Attackers are no longer focused only on compromising systems; they are compromising user trust itself.

The bigger lesson goes beyond crypto.

Even environments traditionally considered “trusted by default” are now part of the modern attack surface.

Today, security is no longer about where the application comes from…

but about visibility, verification, and behavioral analysis before trust is granted.

“Having a firewall doesn’t mean your network is visible.”
Modern threats move through applications and encrypted traffic; and this is where Fortinet NGFW makes the difference.

Modern networks are no longer breached through ports alone, but through applications, encrypted traffic, and user behavior inside the network. That’s why traditional firewalls are no longer enough to provide real visibility or stop threats early.

Fortinet NGFW delivers a deeper layer of protection by understanding applications, inspecting encrypted traffic, and detecting abnormal behavior in real time without compromising network performance.

Today, the real difference is not blocking connections… but understanding what happens inside them.

The network you rely on today… could be your failure point tomorrow.

In banking, network architecture is not just a technical decision.

It directly impacts resilience, risk exposure, and operational continuity.

A centralized model offers control, but creates a single point of failure.

A decentralized model distributes risk,

but increases complexity and governance challenges.

The issue?

Neither model alone is sufficient for modern threat environments.

In practice, leading banks are moving toward Hybrid Architecture.

A model that combines:

Centralized control for governance

Distributed infrastructure for resilience

Smart segmentation to limit breach impact

Why this matters now:

Attacks target entire ecosystems, not single systems

Partial outages can lead to major operational losses

Regulatory pressure requires both visibility and control

One endpoint is enough.!!

Laptops, mobile devices, servers, even IoT devices

all of them are entry points.

This is where EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) becomes critical.

EDR is not a traditional security tool.

It continuously monitors endpoint behavior, detects anomalies in real time, and responds instantly.

How it works in practice:

- Collects endpoint activity data (logins, processes, connections)

- Analyzes behavior using machine learning

- Detects deviations from normal patterns

- Triggers immediate response (e.g., isolating infected devices)

EDR vs Antivirus:

Antivirus → reacts to known threats

EDR → detects unknown threats as they happen

Why it matters now:

- Remote work expanded the attack surface

- IoT increased the number of endpoints

- Attacks are faster and more adaptive

- Breach impact is higher (financial, operational, reputational)

Market data shows strong growth in EDR adoption,

with annual growth rates exceeding 20%, driven by the need for proactive threat detection.

According to Kaspersky Threat Intelligence & Incident Response reports,

a significant number of advanced attacks are discovered long after initial compromise.

due to limited endpoint visibility and reliance on traditional security controls.

🎯 Common issues in enterprise environments:

Limited endpoint visibility; No behavioral-based detection; Late discovery of incidents; Lack of investigation capability.

Result:

Attackers move freely inside the network before being detected.!!

🎯 How Kaspersky Next EDR Expert addresses this

Based on Kaspersky’s EDR approach:

🔹 1. Continuous Endpoint Visibility

Real-time monitoring of endpoint behavior.

🔹 2. Behavioral Detection

Identifies unknown threats without relying on signatures.

🔹 3. Full Attack Timeline

Records every step of the attacker’s activity.

🔹 4. Investigation Capability

Enables full incident reconstruction instead of fragmented data.

🔹 5. Rapid Response

Isolates compromised endpoints before lateral movement.

Security insight Kaspersky incident response research shows that

advanced threats often remain undetected for extended periods (dwell time),

and reducing this time depends heavily on endpoint visibility and behavioral detection capabilities.

Do you have visibility into your endpoints?

Or do you only discover incidents after damage occurs?

At GoFaster,

EDR is not treated as a tool; but as a core layer in a full detection & response strategy.

E vs P vs SE

A small difference in name… a big difference in experience.

Most businesses treat monitors as a standard purchase.

Same specs. Same screens. Same decision.

That’s incorrect.

This Content breaks down the real difference between E, P, and SE monitors

from a practical, operational perspective.

Make the right choice based on how your team actually works,

not just based on price.

Your budget ready?!

The average ransomware demand now exceeds $500k.

The Content:

When you think "ransomware," you might think of a virus that steals data. That's mistake 1.

Modern ransomware doesn't steal; it locks and encrypts everything: operating systems, databases, client files... Then it leaves one message: pay a huge ransom, or shut down your business forever.

Industry reports show that ransom demands are continually rising, transforming the threat from a technical nuisance into an existential risk for the business.

Traditional protection is no longer enough. The solution lies in building a resilient infrastructure. Here are 3 practical steps you can start today:

1. The Immune Backup Strategy (3-2-1 Rule):

Not just any backup. You must follow the "3-2-1 Rule": 3 copies of your data, on 2 different media types, with at least 1 copy completely isolated (Offline or Immutable). This isolated copy is your insurance policy that the attacker can't touch.

2. Network Segmentation:

Stop managing your network like one big, open room. Divide it into separate, fortified "bulkheads." If one department is breached, segmentation prevents the attack from spreading to other critical areas. It builds digital walls that stop the bleeding before it spreads.

3. Isolating Critical Systems:

Identify your company's "crown jewels" (ERP systems, core databases) and put them in their own "digital vault." This isolated network has extremely strict access rules and can only be reached by a very limited number of authorized personnel. This ensures your core operations keep running.

Don't wait to become just another statistic in the next attack report. Start building your defenses today.

🛠️ Labor Day..

Work is not just tasks being completed.

It is impact being built day after day.

In every organization, what truly drives results is not strategy alone,

but the people who execute, adapt, and deliver.

Labor Day is a reminder that growth is not driven by ideas,

but by discipline, consistency, and the effort behind the scenes.

At Gofaster, we recognize that every achievement starts with a capable team,

and real value is created by those who show up and deliver.

Recognition to everyone contributing to progress every single day.
