What’s Sefr Wahed? Sefr Wahed is a student organization founded in Ain Shams University in 2012.

A Student Organization in Ain Shams University specialized in CS and embracing Egypt's Tech Ecosystem through our entrepreneurial hackathon which connects undergraduates with the startup scene and latest innovation trends in ICT industry. Throughout the past 5 year we have strived to help, encourage and prepare students in the computer science and computer engineering field by establ

ishing the concept of self learning and sharing experiences throughout the field, leading to a more cooperative, competitive and productive community. What We Do

Sefr Wahed provides a number of events to students from Ain Shams and all around Egypt including:
1. Meetups : Industry veterans and experts give talks relating to how the industry works, the newest booming trends and how students can improve their knowledge.
2. Internships : Internships with different computer oriented companies are prepared, allowing student to experience the work first hand.
3. Competitions : Computer oriented competitions are organized, allowing students to unleash their creativity, introducing their new innovative software applications and ideas to the market. Our Vision

Driven by the passion of learning and contributing to the field, our vision is to improve, compete and learn from the computer technology industry, resulting in more informed students, better prepared graduates and a more harmonious, productive and accepting industry, both locally and globally. Our Goals

Aiming to achieve our vision, our goals are to :
 Share experiences and knowledge between students and industry veterans and experts through workshops and competitions.
 Encourage self regulated learning, leading to a more knowledgeable society.
 Encourage teamwork and unity in the computer technology industry.
 Encourage student to write and publish research papers.
 Establish a more cooperative, helpful and welcoming community.

Meet our speaker for the second session of Oracle Sessions with SefrWahed, Jakub Polec.

Jakub is Innovation and Industry Director for Oracle Middle East, Africa, and Central Europe.
With over 20 years of business experience with Microsoft, where he got two World-Wide awards for best marketing and business campaigns, then in telecom companies including T-Mobile and France Telecom, and consulting companies like the Center of Adam Smith.

Before joining Oracle he has successfully founded 5 different companies - the first one at University. Hence his latest one in the e-commerce/Artificial Intelligence area was exited to Venture Capital fund after successful seed and startup stages. In this company, he has won two awards for the best startup in Central Europe and Poland. Polec is a high energy physicist from Warsaw University, worked on his Ph.D. at CERN, Switzerland, and received his MBA from the Warsaw High School in Poland.

Meet our speaker for the first session of Oracle Sessions with SefrWahed, Bachir Jreich.

Bachir is a Senior Cyber Security Consultant at Oracle and leading security business activities in Levant, Egypt, and North Africa.

With more than 14 years of experience in the Cyber Security Industry, He is an expert in various technologies including Data Protection, Encryption, Enterprise Cloud Architecture and Security, Identity Management, Data Loss Prevention, and Managed Security Services.

As an industry speaker, He participates in various regional conferences, providing training workshops in the field of Information Security and Cyber Security Awareness.

He is also an active member of the IT Community in Lebanon; he co-founded the “961cyber” community group of Lebanese Cyber Experts and Ethical Hackers.

Machathon 1.1 Covid-19 Batch main goal is finding solutions regarding COVID-19 Pandemic. CORD-19 is a big challenge hosted on Kaggle where 10 tasks are to be solved using NLP, Machine learning and Text mining. The challenge is to answer a set of scientific questions that can help virologists and researchers to keep up to date with the recent advances and scientific discoveries for COVID-19 in the scientific literature.

We encourage the Egyptian youth that has experience in Machine Learning to take the chance! there will be prizes with a total of 15,000 LE for the best teams.
