Senior Software Engineer (Java Spring framework) up to $3000/month - London based Fintech
About Boost
Boost is a London based fintech building new rails for the next generation of payments. We are building a new payment method and network that allows banks and their users to connect easily to merchants.
We have raised a pre-seed round of investment and currently operating in stealth mode.
The founders are x-Wise (ex-Transferwise), Novo, and Experian with hands-on experience in financial services in the EU, UK, and the US.
About the role
Design, develop, test, and deploy backend solutions that revolutionise the way people pay
Drive technical decisions with an agile team
Ensure our software is reliable, extensible, maintainable, debuggable, secure, well-tested and performs well under load
A very small team of less than 10 people so no overheads and a great deal of ownership
You’ll be the first in this role so hands on experience is necessary
Help shape the product from day one based on your discussions with banks and merchants
What we are looking for
We are looking for Senior Backend Engineers who understand how to develop innovative product features while maintaining and scaling critical infrastructure. If you're passionate about working on end to end feature development and building products that transform the way people pay, then we want to chat.
You will be working with a team located in the UK and Egypt so you should be comfortable working with remote teams.
+5 years experience writing Java backend, experience with Spring framework and database abstraction layers like Hibernate
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, and query optimisation. A strong understanding of Postgress database is a plus.
Experience with cloud hosting like AWS/Google
Strong understanding of system design and architecture with experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying software
Demonstrated ability to translate business goals and initiatives into technical requirements
Ability to speak directly to business customers to get feedback and iterate on the product
Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience
You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
Experienced working in a highly technical role at a hyper-growth startup or fast-paced company, and comfortable repeating the experience

Salary up to $3000/month
