CybExer Technologies is scaling its mission-critical capabilities. We are proud to welcome Allar Vallaots as our new Head of Military and Space Programs.

In an era where space systems are the backbone of global security—and their contestation a growing reality—the demand for high-fidelity cyber training environments is no longer optional; it is a strategic necessity.

Allar brings a formidable track record in architecting world-class cyber ranges. As the former COO of CR14, he was instrumental in developing Estonia’s national cyber range capabilities, underpinned by years of strategic cooperation with NATO and EU institutions on large-scale resilience and defense initiatives.

His arrival significantly strengthens CybExer’s military and space practice at a time when organisations operating in defence and space must prepare for increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

As CEO Andrus Kivisaar notes:

In his new role, Allar will lead CybExer’s efforts to address the unique cybersecurity challenges of space as a contested military domain. CybExer is also proud to be part of a consortium developing Europe’s first industry-driven, commercially operated, dedicated Space Cyber Range, ensuring advanced training and readiness for missions that protect critical space infrastructure.

CybExer Technologies cyber range was the backbone of four-days Cybersecurity Exercise for governmental officials from Montenegro, North Macedonia and Albania.

The exercise was organized by E-Governance Academy and CybExer Technologies. One-day Jeopardy-style CTF exercise was followed by a three-day live-fire cyber exercise - exhausting but rewarding!

The friendly competition was designed to improve the resilience and expertise of public authorities at a technical level as well as to raise awareness at the decision-making level.

We were delighted that the training was visited by President of Estonia Mr Alar Karis together with President of Albania Mr Bajram Begaj and joined by EU Ambassador to Albania Ms Hoffmann, Director of the National Authority for Electronic Certification and Cyber Strategy Mr Igli Tafa and Director of the National Agency of Information Society Ms Linda Karcanaj.

The exercise was part of the Cybersecurity Rapid Response for Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia and the project funded by the European Commission.

Help, the kids are coming! (to cyber) 💻 👶

Aare Reintam and Grete Kodi from The Nordic Council of Ministers and The Nordic Council Office in Estonia talked with Geenius Meedia about the cyber education and future generation learning curve.

According to the Cybersecurity Workforce Study, there is a global shortfall of 3.4 million cybersecurity professionals, but the eager youngsters are out there.
Aare Reintam knows: "...a former colleague of mine who unlocked their iPhone with their fingerprint. His six-year-old soon cottoned on to this, and when the boy woke up early one day he went into his parents’ bedroom, grabbed his dad’s phone and, while dad was still asleep, with his arm sticking out from under the pillow, pressed his thumb against the screen and voila!” 💡

But really, the topic is serious.

The Spring Storm 23 military exercise, has come to an end. Nearly 14,000 participants, including conscripts, reservists, active-duty soldiers, Kaitseliit members, NATO Force Integration Unit in Estonia and allied forces from eleven countries, took part in the exercise.

CybExer Technologies CTO Ragnar Rattas and senior system engineer Gert Vaikre took their places as reservists in Cyber Command of Estonian Defence Forces for two weeks to upgrade the system that processes cyber incidents of Cyber and Information Operations Center of Spring Storm exercise.

Otherwise good colleagues Ragnar and Gert turned into Senior Sergeant Rattas and Corporal Vaikre for the Spring Storm.

Both have served in the Staff and Signal Battalion, and Vaikre has also served as an active-duty soldier in the former cyber laboratory for a few years. Another interesting fact is that Corporal Vaikre is a second-generation systems engineer.

Digital transformation has expanded the cyber footprint of all industries, exacerbating dependence on technology and connectivity and widening the opportunity for attacks. The industry experts and analysts started working with a list of over 1000 companies.

Companies who made the list were selected based on their innovative use of technologies to solve pressing market issues, generate cost savings and make efficiency improvements across the security value chain.

The second day of the 2-day event, Cyber Resilience Helsinki, has started. This threat hunting type of cyber training is aimed for private and public organisations working with large-scale IT-systems.

We have teams from Estonian and Finnish companies, Ukrainian Armed forces and Estonian Cyber Defence Unit taking on the challenges both on-site in Helsinki and remotely. The is up and happily doing its job under the watchful eye of CybExer Technologies cyber range team.

ITL (Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications) is a voluntary organisation, whose primary objective is to unite the Estonian information technology and telecommunications companies and organisations.

ITL is an umbrella organisation that represents 3933 companies with 21300 employees with a combined annual turnover of 3.6 billion euros.
