Health Month turned into a health season at Iglu 🌿Candy bowls quietly disappeared and were replaced with a colourful mix of healthier alternatives. We tried new things, discovered new favourites, and learned a few things along the way.

The biggest participation came through step, run, and bike challenges on the Yumuuvi platform, with 6.3 million steps logged and dozens of active participants. Special recognition went to those who clocked the most steps, won the random draw, topped the running chart, and led the cycling challenge, but really, everyone who joined in deserves a high five!

On Slack, we discussed food intolerances and sleep habits, shared podcast and reading suggestions, and encouraged blood donation.

In the offices, we made healthier pizzas, blended smoothies, and learned about oral hygiene from a visiting dental specialist. There were massage tips for desk workers, city bike tours in Tallinn and Tartu, and even a wellbeing-themed bingo.

Thanks to everyone who took part – you literally stepped up for your health. 💪 When our team feels better, we work better – and that means better results for our clients too.

We have important news to share! Iglu has signed an agreement to become part of Telia Eesti, subject to approval from the Estonian Competition Authority. Once approved, Iglu will continue operating under its current brand, with the same team and office, now as a subsidiary of Telia.

This step strengthens the long-standing cooperation between Telia and Iglu. In addition to telecom, IT, and cybersecurity services, Telia will now be able to offer clients reliable software development capabilities through Iglu.

As Telia’s long-time development partner, we’ve contributed to several digital solutions, including the widely used Mobile-ID. Going forward, we’ll work even more closely together to support business digitalisation with integrated services.

“In today’s challenging economic environment, customers need to make increasingly informed choices to get reliable, high-quality services for their money. This deal combines Iglu’s development expertise with Telia’s infrastructure and customer base, enabling a more complete end-to-end service from ICT management to custom development,” said Kristjan Aiaste, CEO of Iglu.

We’ll continue as Iglu, with new opportunities on the horizon.

"If Iglu were an animal, it would be a workhorse." That single line from recent client feedback says more than any metric. Steady, reliable, and committed — it captures the essence of how we work and how we’re perceived.

To better understand how our clients view our performance, we gather structured feedback every year — not to chase scores, but to improve processes and strengthen relationships through a sharper value proposition.

We asked for feedback across five key areas: business understanding, communication, technical skills, delivery speed, and quality of work.

On a five-point scale, we were graded an average of 4.72.
The highest marks went to our technical skills (4.92), communication (4.79), business understanding (4.75) and quality (4.71) — a strong sign that we’re solving real problems with the right solutions.

Speed came in with the lowest score (4.42), but even there the feedback said it all:
"Speed could always be better, but things get done within the agreed timeframe."

Sometimes you have to hold your horses to make sure the work is done right — and for us, quality and client satisfaction always come first.

Despite market headwinds, Iglu achieved record profitability in 2024!
In a year marked by economic uncertainty in Estonia, many businesses faced significant headwinds. Yet Iglu, a long-term development partner for banking, telecom, healthcare, and other e-services, not only maintained its revenue levels but also improved profitability.
Our revenue remained stable at €4.4 million, and for the first time, our net profit exceeded half a million euros – growing by 13.1%.
According to Kristjan Aiaste, CEO of Iglu, the IT sector has faced a price war in recent years, with hourly rates not seen for more than a decade. "Smart clients know that unrealistic prices often come at the cost of quality, experience, and sustainability," Aiaste noted.
“Our focus has always been on thinking deeply with our clients to create optimal and sustainable solutions. We're grateful that our partners value this approach,” he added.
The current market situation offers a good opportunity to rethink IT partnerships and improve digital solutions. As Aiaste said: "Those who continue investing in IT during challenging times will strengthen their competitive advantage."
While the past year brought turbulence, it also gave us the chance to tidy up our operations and set our sights on new growth for 2025.

Like every year, we started February by reviewing the past year and setting our focus for the next. 2024 was a year of development at Iglu – we invested in our team’s skills, improved internal processes, and launched new initiatives. While our ambitions were even higher, we achieved solid financial results considering the overall economic environment and rewarded our team accordingly.

In 2025, we continue on our long-term path, aiming for steady growth through smart and efficient work while strengthening both our team and client base.

After the presentations, we took a lantern hike at the closed Rummu prison and wrapped up the evening with board games, discussions, and a sauna session.

📢 We’re thrilled to announce that Annette joined Iglu as our new Employee Experience Specialist at the beginning of January. Her mission? To take care of our people—our Eskimos—by creating a positive and memorable work experience, gathering and analyzing feedback, and improving processes to ensure everyone feels supported and valued.

Before joining the Iglu family, Annette worked at LHV’s HR team from 2019 to 2024, starting as a Personnel Assistant and leaving as an HR Specialist. “Those years were full of opportunities to grow, learn, laugh, and create memorable moments,” Annette reflects.

Interestingly, Annette’s journey into HR wasn’t planned. After high school, she initially pursued optometry but soon realized her passion lay elsewhere. “My husband shared a job posting for a Personnel Assistant role at LHV and encouraged me to apply. The rest is history!” she says, emphasizing that it’s the people and relationships that keep her inspired in the HR field.

At Iglu, Annette is excited to use her experience to make every Eskimo feel special. “Iglu is known for building software that works, and as a client, you can always count on exceptional collaboration, high-quality work, and beautiful results,” she adds.
