New Internet Media

New Internet Media A Holding company offering bespoke licensing and payment services to the online creative community.

Back in 2006 we started mulling over the complexity and opacity in all matters related to royalties and copyright, and Thor was struck by the similarities between music copyright registration and the handling of shares in a company on the stock market. (At the time we were a fast growing music distribution company with music on the mobile phone (launched 4 June 2004 with partners SonyMusic and Mic

rosoft)). Why can’t this principle be applied in the world of music copyright? In 2006 the technology didn’t exist to handle these questions, so the project was deferred. Fast forward to 2013, the technology that brought all of Thor’s visions back to life was bitcoin and the underlying technology – blockchain (Distributed Ledger Technology DLT). Guy Fletcher, OBE and Thor Pettersen had by then launched Internet Music ltd which became the core UK company. In 2016 we incorporated New Internet Media to act as a holding company for the commercial companies Internet Music Exchange and Internet Music Marketing. A holding company makes sense as we discovered many other implementations of our nano-payments principle, as well as setting up similar processes based upon the “More money, faster to the owners of copyright” services. The “old” name Internet Music is now the name of the company (limited by guarantee) which is owned by copyright owners in musical works and recordings.

We changed the name of NIM's AI-powered service to CaaS (Copyrighted as a Service).
Today, content is more than something people consume—it’s an asset. Creators are no longer just participants; they generate financial value. Culture itself holds measurable economic and social worth.
We want to respond to this shift.

𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐒 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧, 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤'𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲.

The Copyrighted as a Service (CaaS) is needed. Powered by New Internet Media’s White Label services, they will offer any copyrighted content (Music, videos, images, text) sustainably to protect and monetize the copyright/IPR.

The recent acquisition of Bridge by Stripe marks a significant milestone in the evolution of digital payments, particularly for the creative industries. This move highlights the growing importance of stablecoin infrastructure in global financial transactions.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬:
𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆: Digital cultural content, such as music, is increasingly recognized as having intrinsic value that can back new forms of currency.
𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍 𝑹𝒐𝒚𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍: With over 5.3 billion Internet users consuming content daily, there's an enormous opportunity to revolutionize creator compensation.
𝑬𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆: Simplified stablecoin payment systems could streamline royalty distributions, making them more efficient and transparent.
𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔-𝑩𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔: New payment solutions could reduce fees and administrative overhead for international content creators.
𝑵𝒂𝒏𝒐-𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔: Advanced payment systems enable nano-payments, allowing fans to support creators directly in small but meaningful ways.
𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: Major fintech players entering the stablecoin space signal a shift towards cryptocurrency as a legitimate business solution.

These developments suggest we're on the cusp of a transformation in how digital content is valued and monetized. As the lines between traditional finance and crypto continue to blur, we may see new opportunities for fair compensation in the creative economy.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆
When dealing with copyright infringements by AI bots like Bytespider, simply reporting the issue to the offending party's website may not be effective.

How to protect yourself!
(I will not report this directly here as that will probably put me in the fool's corner 🙂 , but contact me, and I’ll give you more information.)
Incorporate elements that could infringe on local laws or regulations into your work. If the work is copied and distributed, the infringing party may face consequences under the relevant laws.
Precedent
Some creators, including Japanese manga artists, have reportedly used this tactic to protect their work from unauthorized copying and infringement.

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has developed AI-powered music generation services. There are two notable initiatives:
Doubao AI Assistant:
Doubao, an AI assistant developed by ByteDance, offers a music generation feature. Users can input keywords or custom lyrics and select the desired music style, atmosphere, and vocals to create a song.
Ripple AI Music App:
ByteDance has also launched Ripple, an AI-powered music creation app with a virtual audio-editing studio.

ByteDance employs various technologies and strategies to generate music in its AI music generation tools:
Autoregressive Language Models and Diffusion Models:
In tools like Seed-Music, autoregressive language models generate audio symbols step-by-step, while diffusion models clarify music through denoising.
Training data:
The AI models are trained on extensive music data. For example, the MeLoDy model was trained on 257,000 hours of music data.
Multimodal Inputs:
Seed-Music uses a three-module architecture (representation learning, generation, and rendering) to generate music from multimodal inputs such as text descriptions, audio references, or sheet music.

ByteDance continually optimizes and enhances its AI algorithms and models.

𝐄𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐈-𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜:
California AI Transparency Act’s Role
SB942 represents a significant step toward regulating AI-generated content by emphasizing transparency and accountability within California. Compared to global AI regulations, SB942 shares common goals with frameworks like the EU AI Act and the OECD AI Principles but differs in scope and enforcement mechanisms. While SB942 primarily focuses on content provenance disclosures, other regulations globally encompass broader aspects such as data privacy, ethical standards, and risk-based governance. As AI technologies continue to evolve, the interplay between state-level regulations like SB942 and comprehensive international frameworks will shape the future landscape of AI governance.

As AI systems increasingly generate music, protecting the rights of original creators becomes critical. The California AI Transparency Act can play a pivotal role in ensuring AI-generated music adheres to copyright laws by requiring transparency about the origins of content and how it was generated. For the music industry, AI services that produce music based on existing works must disclose the source material they have learned from, making it easier to trace the use of copyrighted music.

The Act recognizes original music creators by mandating that AI-generated content include provenance disclosures. This transparency is key to ensuring that the original artists and rights holders are properly credited and compensated whenever AI systems rely on copyrighted music for training. Public AI detection tools, as required by the Act, could further empower rights holders to identify when their work has influenced AI-generated content, creating an additional layer of accountability.

In this evolving landscape, the California AI Transparency Act provides a pathway to safeguard music copyright in the age of AI, ensuring that original creators are fairly compensated for the work AI models learn from and use in generating new music.

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬!

Reflecting on another year, I’m reminded of the incredible pace at which digital tools have evolved to help us harmonize our professional and creative lives.

In today’s dynamic startup ecosystem, entrepreneurs face a landscape that is simultaneously more accessible and more complex. Yet, one principle remains unchanged: creative minds deserve their fair share of the value they generate.

Content is the backbone of the Internet. Without it, the digital world as we know it would not exist.

As Alfons Karabuda is saying, 𝑀𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑐 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑐.

Without the Internet, the innovations we now take for granted—whether social media, crypto communities, decentralized finance, AI tools, or chatbots—would never have had the chance to thrive.

So, kudos to the visionaries, creators, and innovators who continue to push boundaries and shape the future of digital innovation.

I am looking forward to another incredible and productive year!

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐍𝐈𝐌 𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭?
NIM stands out from other content platforms in several ways:

NIM's white-label partnerships
NIM partners with various stakeholders in the music and technology industries to drive widespread adoption and scalability. This collaborative approach facilitates the integration of NIM's service into existing ecosystems under the partner's brand.

Unique third-party monetization model:
Unlike traditional platforms, NIM doesn't burden copyright owners with the platform's costs. Instead, it allows third parties to monetize the content to pay the bills, ensuring creators can focus on their craft without worrying about financial aspects.

Blockchain-based infrastructure:
NIM's blockchain-based infrastructure and advanced security architecture ensure that creators' digital assets, including copyrights and royalties, are kept safe and secure in the cloud. All transactions and data related to their copyrights are recorded on an immutable blockchain, providing a transparent and tamper-proof record of their assets and earnings.

Direct monetization opportunities:
NIM's platform offers creators direct monetization opportunities, eliminating the need for intermediaries and ensuring fair compensation for their work. Creators can easily manage copyrights, receive royalty payments, and participate in the platform's yield generation and content staking mechanisms.

Effortless control with email-based account abstraction:
NIM's platform features a user-friendly interface and advanced account abstraction technology. It allows creators to register, manage, and maintain complete control over their copyrights using only their email addresses, eliminating the need for complex legal paperwork and intermediaries.

Transparent and timely royalty payments:
NIM's technology revolutionizes handling royalties, providing copyright owners unprecedented transparency and timely payments. Creators can track the usage of their content and receive their fair share of earnings directly without the delays and opaqueness that have historically plagued the industry.

Innovative yield generation and staking for passive income:
NIM's platform offers copyright owners unique opportunities to generate passive income through yield generation and content staking mechanisms. By participating in NIM's yield pool, creators can earn a portion of the transaction fees distributed proportionally based on the popularity and engagement of their content.

These features set NIM apart from other platforms, providing a comprehensive and innovative solution for copyright management, royalty distribution, and content monetization.
