Digis Invests in Scalamandra, the Scala Engineering Company, to Propel Global Expansion

Digis is an international software development company that works with top clients such as PwC, HubSpot, BlaBlaCar, and others. The company already has a team of over 200 people and operates in different countries around the world, including Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and the Baltic countries.

The founder of Digis, Nick Nagatkin, who was awarded Forbes 30 Under 30 in the European technology community, believes that investing Scalamandra will help the company strengthen its position in the market, expand its technical stack, and increase the number of qualified specialists.

Scalamandra was established in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic by CEO Elijah Podavalkin. The company offers on-demand teams of skilled Scala engineers to businesses seeking to scale quickly. The name "Scalamandra" represents the company's favorite programming language, Scala, and a lizard known for its extraordinary ability to regenerate. Like the lizard, the company has demonstrated its resilience during economic challenges and crises.

Scalamandra has expertise in product development, data engineering, big data, and machine learning, operating across diverse industries such as healthcare, fintech, automotive, and more. The company has its own center for training and re-qualification, which helps software developers reach middle and senior levels. Additionally, Scalamandra is a patron of the Salamandra Foundation, supporting the preservation of amphibians and their habitats.

With the new investment and partnership with Nick Nagatkin, Scalamandra aims to expand its team in different locations and increase its presence in the international market. Nagatkin's extensive experience in startups and venture capital will help to become more sustainable and integrate company-type processes, connecting domain expertise, software development knowledge base, and an extensive business network worldwide.

According to Nagatkin, "Their commitment to functional programming and their passion for technology make them an exciting and innovative company to watch in the years to come." Imposter syndrome🥸

We’ve all felt it. That creeping sense of dread in the gut, the voices in your head telling you you’re no good. Imposter syndrome is a name for that feeling of being a fraud🥲
⠀
First thing you should do is set the correct statement in your head:
⠀
❌ “Oh, I just got lucky”, “I will never be good enough”;
✅ “Luck didn’t get me to where I am, this is the result of my conscious actions”.

❗️Moreover, about 70% of developers feel this way but is this always a bad sign?

If you are interested in personal growth and development, you’re always going to be pushing yourself into something new. And when things are new, of course, we feel uncomfortable in our skin.

So next time you experience impostor syndrome, congratulate yourself: you chose growth over anxiety and success over doing nothing📈
