Last weekend, the women of our Microsoft running club took part in the 2026 LHV Maijooks — a celebration of movement, community, and women’s strength. 🌸🏃🏼‍♀️

This year’s event made history with an expanded two-day program and the region’s very first women-only half marathon, bringing thousands of participants together at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds.

From the traditional 7 km walk and run to the relay teams and half marathon distance, we’re incredibly proud of our colleagues who challenged themselves, supported each other, and embraced the energy of this special spring event.
Here’s to movement, team spirit, and women lifting each other up, both on and off the track. 💪🏻

President Alar Karis recognized three outstanding early-career researchers whose work is helping build a smarter, more sustainable, and more human-centered future. 🤝

Microsoft Development Center Estonia is proud to collaborate on the Young IT Researcher Award, that went to Marharyta Domnich from the University of Tartu, whose work focuses on Explainable AI (XAI) and making complex AI decisions understandable and trustworthy.

Her research helps answer questions like why an AI system made a certain decision and what could be changed to achieve a different outcome. This has real-world impact in areas like healthcare, finance, and public services, where transparency is essential.

As President Karis noted, researchers are not just knowledge seekers — they are bridge builders, connecting science with society and today’s discoveries with tomorrow’s decisions.

For us, this yearly award is a celebration of the people who turn complex ideas into meaningful impact 🙌

Should AI improve your voice or change it? 🗣️

Our Senior Machine Learning Scientist Marju Purin shared in our lates blog post how Teams audio AI is built to enhance clarity without crossing the line into altering identity.

From training models on over 100 languages to designing systems that treat every voice equally, it’s a careful balance between innovation and responsibility.

Last week, our Tallinn office hosted a truly down-to-earth conversation. 🌾

We welcomed two inspiring voices from Estonia’s farming world:
- Tanel Tang (Kana-Tanel) – organic hen farmer from Saaremaa
- Farmer Tõnis – one of Estonia’s most followed young farmers

They gave us a refreshing look beyond city life — sharing what modern farming really means today, why more young people are choosing this path, and how working with nature can be just as innovative as working with code.

The discussion was filled with humor, honest insights, and a new perspective on sustainability, purpose, and production in its most original form 🌱

📰 The conversation also caught wider attention — check out the article (in Estonian): https://maaleht.delfi.ee/artikkel/120484401/pollumajandus-on-lahe-eesti-kuulsaimad-talumehed-kaivad-kontoriinimestele-maaelu-tutvustamas

A big thank you to everyone who joined and helped bring this experience to life!
