Oli suur au kujundada selle aasta Eesti Disainiauhindade visuaalset identiteeti! Nüüd, kui deliirium hakkab vaikselt raugema, on hea hetk möödunut korraks sünteesida.

Aitäh Tiia Vihand, Kaire Rannik ja Aive Karing, et kutsusite meid seda projekti tegema ja Kirke Leinatamm, et teatepulga üle võtsid ja edukalt lõpuni vedasid. Kirke absoluutne usaldus meie vastu oli suureks motivaatoriks, mis aitas töötada täie pühendumusega ja võimaldas meie nägemust ellu viia ilma kompromissideta. Sügav kummardus ka Jan Teeveti, Mari-Liis Toome ja kogu Orangetime tiimi ees, kelle töö auhinnagala korraldamisel oli üdini (säsini?) professionaalne ja põhjalik.

Kirsiks tordil oli muidugi kulla võit “Saba ja sarvedega” töö eest silmapaistva teostuse kategoorias, täname žüriid selle tunnustuse eest! Aitäh ERMi tiimile, eesotsas Tanel Mütt ja Märt Puusta, kes pöördusid meie poole sellise haruldase tellimusega nagu tüpograafiline erilahendus, sellist briifi ei saa just iga päev. Aitäh ka Oliver Udeküll ja Jaan Pavliuk SETE stuudiost, kes teibikirjad kuumadele kampaaniavisuaalidele kleepisid (õnnitlused Jaanile ka Noore Püssi tiitli puhul). Tänu teile saime me iseendale diplomi teha, sürreaalne kogemus.

Ei saa mainimata jätta ka Velvetit, kelle loodud ERMi CVI juhendas “tüpograafiat julgelt kasutama” ja Mart Andersoni, kelle poolt ERMile loodud kirjatüüp Aestii Sans oli ideaalseks lõuendiks, millele saba-ja-sarvilisi teibijuppe laduda.

Tänavuse EDA visuaalse identiteedi põhiraskust kandis kirjatüüp Tallinn Grotesk, mille arendamisel olid abiks meie endised praktikandid Georg Ander Sild, Radovan Vašák ja Mia Raud, igavene tänu ka teile!

Tüpograafiline erilahendus Eesti Rahva Muuseumis avatud Monster Chetwynd’i näitusele “Saba ja sarvedega”. Kunstniku loominguga suhestuv teibi-tüpograafila baseerub ERM’i kirjatüübil Aestii Sans, mille autor on Mart Anderson.

A custom typographic solution for the exhibition “A Feather In Your Hat!” by Monster Chetwynd at the Estonian National Museum (ERM) in Tartu. The tape-typographic treatment was inspired by the artist’s DIY aesthetic, and is based on ERM’s typeface Aestii Sans by Mart Anderson.

A couple of weeks ago we launched our new typeface Vee alongside the publication “Let yourself be bad at things” (Estonian version “Ekseldes ei eksi”) at Logi sauna in Tallinn. The publication contains a conversation between us and Laura Pappa, initiator of Vee, where we talk about the origins of our type foundry, our working process and the values embedded in our typefaces. Together, we reflected on the development of Vee through the lens of amateurism, experimentation, and curiosity.

The publication is available for €7 + shipping costs, or you’re welcome to pass by our Tallinn studio for a chat and a complimentary copy.
