What's the difference between Fuzz, Distortion and Overdrive?

After trying multiple great fuzzes, I realised what I really needed in my situation was a treble booster.

This pedal does give that great Hendrix fuzz sound without any of the buffer type problems you get with old fuzz faces etc.
