Kyle Dixon, who wrote the already-legendary theme for Stranger Things together with Michael Stein, has a thing for the Arp 2600 analogue synth. So much that it earned a spot right between his Core 59 studio monitors on the desk! 💪😎

In fact, that's only one side of the story, as his partner in crime, Michael Stein, has Core 47 in his studio, and since they had a long-distance working relationship for the Stranger Things project, most of the production was tracked and pre-mixed on Core speakers.

Our Core family started life with two members: Core 7 and Core 59 started the Core journey, and soon after came Core 47 along with Core Sub. Finally, we added Core 5 and Core Sub Compact, which in many cases turned out to be the last missing component to create an immersive listening environment in smaller studios.

Mobile Sessions started life with LYD speakers onboard. LYD 48 in the main control room and LYD 7 in the 'living room' of the van.

Since then, they have upgraded with Core 47s in the control room and added more LYD 48 and LYD 7 speakers to create an immersive setup in the living room! 😎

Throwback Thursday! In 2020, Core 59 landed a MusicTech choice award in its 9/10 review.

Why did it not get a 10/10? Because they find that they are not fit for small studios as a desktop monitor right in front of you. We get their point, as that is mostly correct - and in part why we also have Core 7 and Core 5 in the product range. 😉

Soft-dome tweeters are fragile. So while you might be tempted to take a vacuum cleaner or dusting cloth to them while you’re cleaning, that’s dangerous territory – and you’re more likely to end up doing more harm than good.

You can actually just leave any dust that isn’t blown off the tweeter when you play music. But if you don’t like the way it looks, the best method is to blow gently at the tweeter. Any dust that isn’t blown off by the speakers themselves will have little to no impact on their sound.

Should the damage already be done, there is a slightly odd solution that you could try.👇👇👇

Core 5 is our smallest speaker in the range. But don't let the size fool you! For near-field monitoring at a close distance, say a desktop workstation, it is perfectly fit for the task. But if you couple it with Core Sub Compact, in a 2.1 monitor system, you expand the low range significantly.

And if you combine them with e.g. Core 47 or 59 and Core Sub, Core 5 will do wonders as components in an immersive 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos system. 😎👌
