CopenHacks

CopenHacks CopenHacks hopes of starting a more progressive, inviting, supportive, and enriching 'hacker' cultur

The idea for starting CopenHacks came in mid-2015 by a student at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), after having noticed that the hackathons that occur do not have a focus on learning and fun, but are generally hosted by some company that want to explot students capabilities to solve some company problem using company software in exchange for an internship or smaller, less significant rew

ards. CopenHacks was conceived with the intention of having both local and international students from many different backgrounds to come together to work on any project they like, using whichever tech they like, with the hopes of starting a more progressive, inviting, supportive, and enriching 'hacker' culture in Denmark.

⚠️Cancellation: Copenhacks 2020⚠️

The health and safety of our community is a first priority. As a result of the global COVID-19 virus situation we have decided not to carry through with Copenhacks on May 2-3, 2020. It has been a tough decision, but we want to prioritize the health and safety of everyone involved and we believe this is the only responsible thing to do.

We had Copenhacks for 4 successive years at the Microsoft offices in Copenhagen and we want to continue Copenhacks to be an international, diverse and open event that makes it possible to meet other people from the community, across borders, meet friends face to face, share ideas and go home again feeling enriched and inspired. Last year we had 150 participants from more than 22 countries.

We hope to continue Copenhacks in 2021 and will keep you posted.

Take care everyone! 💕
