WordPress is the foundation our Experts network is built on. Every client project runs on software that volunteers and contributors built in the open. Sponsoring the CloudFest Hackathon is one way we put time and expertise back into that ecosystem.

This year, our Experts are leading three hackathon projects:

• WP Agentic Admin, a privacy-first AI assistant for WordPress, led by Marcel Schmitz
• SWORD, a Self-Hosted WordPress Optimized Runtime on Docker, led by Wesley Stessens
• TestAlly for Developers, a component guide for manual accessibility tests and audits for developers, co-lead by Nemanja Cimbaljevic.

In total, there are 10 projects in the making with about 110 participants hacking for almost three days.

They're writing code, filing PRs, and shipping features alongside developers from across the WordPress community and other open-source systems.

Big thanks and shoutout to Carole Olinger, who manages to gather year after year an impressively diverse group of backend devs, frontend devs, DevOps, marketers, LLM specialists, etc.
