In the beginning of 90s I was attending high school and apart from my interest in electronics my greatest hobby was playing guitar. By that time, I also knew, I was going to study electronic engineering like my father. I needed a proper solution to power my pedals and realizing it was a problem was the first step towards CIOKS. I got an idea for a small power supply which would be able to power se
veral 9V pedals and started making prototypes. In November 1991, on the day of my 18th birthday, I formally founded the company CIOKS. The first product out was the Baby with 5 standard 9V outlets. Along with introduction of digital pedals on the market the demand for more power came up. In 1995 two new power supplies with bigger current capability and 7 outlets each were launched. The Big John had 9V outlets only, where the Double Jack also had 12V option. These three products almost became a standard as power sources for effect pedals in Denmark. After completing my master studies in electrical engineering I worked a few years in companies Siemens and Bang & Olufsen and ran CIOKS aside. I started to work on new products and began to export mainly to countries in Western Europe. In 2007 three new products were introduced. The Schizophrenic with 6 isolated outlets, the Power Bitch with higher voltages and the AC Rider with two AC outlets became new members of CIOKS power supply family, which formed the standard range. In 2009 we have updated the Baby into a Mark 2 by adding an isolated outlet to it. In the meantime as our sales grew I decided to establish a sister company in Poland which would take care of all manufacturing of our power supplies. Now in 2017 we have 9 full time employees and most of our activities are handled by our Polish company CIOKS Enterprises. In year 2010 we were very proud to present the professional range. In the beginning it was three brand new products DC10, AC10 and TC10 with a bunch of features and nice design details. These were the first products with toroidal transformers in a metal enclosure with a 120V or 230V mains voltage selector aiming for the top professional customer. A year later in the same high built quality and design followed the DC8 and the P***y Power and in 2013 we marked our 20th anniversary with the launch of the big CIOKOLATE. All these super nice power supplies formed our Professional range. Based on the DC10 we also made a co-branded power supply for Eventide named PowerFactor. For smaller rigs or for the less demanding musiciens we have during years 2013 and 2014 released four new products forming our LINK range with the unique possibility of linking two or three power supplies powered with a single mains power cord. Our smallest power supply ADAM also being the name of my son became a very popular product for younger musicians wanting a nice but not expensive power supply or just those with a few pedals on their boards. The LINK feature was so nice that it was obvious to use it in future products with toroidal transformers aiming for the more professional user. The Eventide PowerFactor 2 and CIOKS DC5 were released where the DC5 being a perfect match for those flat Pedaltrain pedalboards turned out to be a tremendous sales success. The new DC10 link and DC8 link will be released during this year also along with our 25th anniversary OVERKILL power supply with 25 isolated outlets! We are all looking froward to this. Best regards,
