Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that Jamii.one has been awarded a €150,000 grant by the Swiss Capacity Building Facility (SCBF) to support our mission of providing access to affordable insurance products for millions of Ethiopians.

As an emerging InsurTech in the African insurance market, Jamii.one is proud to be recognised by SCBF, a Swiss-based organisation that supports inclusive finance and private sector development in Africa and globally. This grant is a testament to the impact that Jamii.one is having in Ethiopia and highlights the tremendous potential we have to unlock the African insurance market.

At Jamii.one, we’re revolutionising the insurance market in Ethiopia with our digital platform. Our innovative technology is transforming the way community-based groups access insurance products that meet the specific needs of their members. By digitising paper-based records, we’re making it easier for Ethiopians to obtain insurance and protect themselves against unforeseen risks.

We’re incredibly grateful for SCBF’s support, and we’re excited to use this grant to scale our important work and reach even more Ethiopians with affordable insurance products. Jamii.one is excited to be featured in Børsen (leading Danish business news paper) for quote: “scaling at comet speed☄️"!!! Gaining +50,000 new users in Ethiopia monthly and converting 14% to insurance takers we are indeed scaling beyond rocket speed 🚀

With the contract signed in December 2022, Jamii.one is bringing life-changing digital financial inclusion to 20 million people organised in community groups in Ethiopia. With already more than 350,000 people registered in our platform and a strong collaboration with our insurance partners, we are raising €1M in pre-seed to realise this business and impact opportunity.
