Upgraded PDF Reporting — If you can't report on it, did it happen? (Did you manage to get all the Disney songs in yesterdays post?)

It's QScan 2023 week! Every day this week, we're exploring one of the stunning new features in QScan 2023. Today it's the upgraded reporting system.

Reports aren't as fun as all the Disney songs from yesterday, but they are one of the most vital parts of the Automated Quality Control process!

PDF report generation is now faster and more flexible. Select what you want to see, save your configuration as a template, and use it in all your projects. Blocks can be added or removed, and you can customise the PDF report design and logo. The overall design has also been refreshed, making it easier to understand.

QScan will generate reports in parallel, so the performance of the PDF generation has also improved.

Eyeball Events — Always Keep Your Eyes on the Prize!

It's QScan 2023 week! Every day this week, we're exploring one of the stunning new features in QScan 2023. Today it's Eyeball Events!

Our users know that QScan can detect almost all technical and compliance-based errors. There are, however, certain things that would be impossible for any AQC platform to detect. For example, a microphone entering a shot or footage being upside down.

So, until our AQC systems become truly self-aware and we enter a Skynet-style AI-controlled future, many broadcasters and big brand streamers require an 'eyeball report' to be supplied along with the AQC report.

QScan offers the ability to integrate both reports into one and add custom-defined eyeball events using the QScan timeline. You can select TC-in and TC-out, customise the message, and add the severity level. These events will automatically be added to both the timeline and the reports. You will also be able to do a bulk insert of eyeball events by uploading a CSV file with the list of your eyeball events.

Hopefully, you can SEE the value in this one. Keep an eye out for eyeball events in QScan 2023.

During this period, a natural cohesion has formed between React and QScan. Both products provide a way to automate, iterate, and elevate the workflows of post-production professionals. They share a purpose, a team, and a target audience, and now social media too!

So, moving forward, QScan will join us on this channel under the name LWKS Workflows. Not much else will change. This will still be the home for all things ioGates React. There will just be some QScan content in the mix, which we think you will find genuine value in.

Remember back in the mid 90's when film production was a bit different🎬

Kris Kolodziejski, the founder of Digital Film Lab was incredibly bright and had, for that time, the visionary idea of scanning full-length feature films, and do the conforming/VFX in a computer and then re-record them back to film.
