Local rain series in DynamicFlood makes your flood modelling right as rain! 🌧️

We updated DynamicFlood, powered by TUFLOW, with local design rain events in Sweden and Norway. With this improvement, you can be sure that your simulation uses the best available input based on local rain statistics.

To create the design rains, we followed national guidelines and used data from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and SMHI - Sveriges Meteorologiska och Hydrologiska Institut in Sweden.

And there's more! 💡 DynamicFlood now also features several climate scenarios that can be used for simulating future flood conditions. 🔮

Monitor the speed of your DynamicFlood simulation in real time! 🌊

Now you can follow the progress of your DynamicFlood simulations and be alerted if the model run takes longer than expected.

Here's how it works:

📈 When you start a simulation, a progress bar appears to show the status. If the model is slowing down, the bar will turn red, signalling that the model might take longer than expected.

📊 For advanced modellers, an expert mode is available, that plots the timestep and control numbers over time, offering a unique live view of the model performance.

Big news! The most detailed elevation model for Germany is now available in Scalgo Live! 🚀

In early June, all German states released their geographic data as open data, making detailed elevation models publicly available everywhere in the country. The ADV (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Vermessungsverwaltungen) calls this "an important milestone in the history of digital transformation and open data culture in Germany."

And with this release, Scalgo Live is enriched with over 130,000 km² of new DGM1 data, providing the most up-to-date elevation data for flood analysis and surface water management. We have included 6 new states: Baden-Württemberg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Niedersachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland, and Hansestadt Bremen.

Infiltration and drainage is now a part of the Flash flood map in Finland☔

Scalgo Live has received a significant update in Finland: The flood analysis now takes into account infiltration based on land cover and surface soil types. Additionally, in urban areas, the analysis considers the effect of stormwater drainage systems.

Introducing detailed contour maps and editable buildings in Workspaces 🗺️🏠

Two exciting updates have now been released:

🗺️ All new Workspaces include a contour map that accurately depicts your terrain edits. This means that when you modify the terrain, contour lines are updated to reflect your latest design.

🏠 We have improved the way buildings are included in Workspaces. Now, they are regular edits that can easily be added, modified, and removed.

These updates mark a great leap forward in Workspace capabilities. We continue to explore new possibilities for contour lines and Workspaces. In the meantime, take a look at these new updates and let us know what you think.

Student talks: "SCALGO Live is fast, easy and perfect." 👨‍🎓🎓

Meet Michał Wójcik, an Environmental Protection graduate from Poland who used SCALGO Live in his engineering thesis. He is one of over 5000 students that use SCALGO Live in their studies.

In his engineering thesis, Michał tried to solve the flooding issues in his hometown Rawa Mazowiecka. 💧

"I used SCALGO Live to see whether my solutions work", he explains.
