Georgina and Adam Roberts at Trye Farm have ditched generic forecasts for hyper-local data. By using a Cordulus weather station, they’ve mastered the art of "window grazing", turning cows out for just a few hours between rain showers to protect their soil and boost regrowth.

🌦️ When the forecast keeps changing, your plans should not have to.

This season has tested everything so far; your crops, your livestock, and your patience. A dry, dusty spring gave way to sudden downpours and unstable conditions that left little room for certainty.

For farmers across the UK, this kind of volatility is no longer the exception. It is the rule. Weather patterns swing wildly, and every decision — from irrigation to harvest — carries more weight than ever.

It is tough to act confidently when the skies refuse to cooperate. But that is exactly when good data makes the biggest difference.

At Cordulus, we give you the tools to face this new climate reality with clarity. Our AI-driven forecasts help you respond faster, plan smarter, and stay one step ahead — rain or shine.

🌦️ Unpredictable weather is the new normal — Are you ready?

The past few months have been a rollercoaster. A punishing drought in April and May pushed crops and livestock to their limits. Then, just as suddenly, the rains returned — bringing chaotic, ever-changing conditions that refuse to settle.

This is the new normal for UK farmers: unpredictable, unforgiving, and constantly shifting. It is hard to forecast, harder to manage, and incredibly challenging to keep a cool head when every decision matters.

A dry spell can make a rain gauge seem pointless — until the skies open and timing becomes everything.

At Cordulus, we understand how high the stakes are. That is why we have built AI-powered forecasting tools to help UK farmers make smart, confident decisions — even when the weather refuses to play fair.

With our technology, you can turn uncertainty into action.

Meet James, a vegetable grower from West Suffolk using local weather data to stay ahead in a dry season 🥔🌾

James Hay runs Barton Place Farms, a family business managing around 2000 acres of irrigated land across West Suffolk. From cereals and seed wheat to potatoes and onions, the farm grows high-quality crops with a focus on sustainability and environmental care.

But like many farmers across the UK, James is facing serious challenges this May — with just 0.75mm of rainfall recorded so far, drought is putting pressure on crops and irrigation decisions.

To stay on top of it, James keeps a close eye on local weather patterns using the Cordulus network.

“The network is great. I can check on our neighbours' weather stations and easily follow how the weather is developing locally,” he says.

With hyperlocal weather data at his fingertips, James can make smarter, faster decisions about when to irrigate and how to adapt to changing conditions — turning uncertainty into action.

Meet Ian, a cattle farmer from Cheshire who’s turning weather data into smarter decisions 🐄

Ian Norbury runs a 250-acre cattle farm just outside Manchester. Like many farmers in Britain, Ian faces the challenge of making decisions in unpredictable weather conditions.
To stay ahead, Ian tracks his local weather conditions and looks back on historical data to make more informed decisions.

“If I’ve got the agronomist or seedman on the farm,” Ian explains, “ we can look back and see if there’s growth issues — whether we had enough rain or not, or whether it’s been in a period of drought that could have knocked the establishment of the reseed.”

With access to precise, field-level weather data, Ian can back up his gut feeling with facts – improving timing, reducing guesswork, and helping his operation run more smoothly.

Join Ian and other forward-thinking farmers that use Cordulus to turn the weather into an advantage.

Did you know that most forecasts rely on wind measurements from 10 meters up?

But what if your work happens at 2 meters? That difference matters - a lot!

We’ve measured it, and the gap is significant. In fact, this particular experiment consistently shows a difference of a whopping 70%!

So, we have trained our AI to forecast wind at 2 meters, delivering insights where they truly count.

Sometimes, science and research is just stepping outside, looking up, and thinking, ℎ𝑢ℎ, 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡’𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 🤓

Fantastic to see the growth of our weather station network in the United Kingdom!

From the northern-most part of Scotland to the very tip of Cornwall in the south, we're collecting weather data and helping farmers manage the unpredictable weather that's so characteristic of the British Isles. 🌦

Autumn rainfall is high and conditions for maize harvest are now challenging🌧️🌽

To minimise soil damage that will have a knock-on effect for 2025 crops, consider cultivating or disking stubbles to reduce runoff, and be mindful of keeping roads in good condition. A quality additive could also help to reduce risks from poor harvest conditions.
