After watching a TEDx video at our office about the Green School located in Bali, Indonesia, we were extremely impressed by its unique approach. And now we finally had the chance to visit it! We stopped in Bali on our way to Malaysia where we will spend the next four months taking CrowdMove to the next level by participating in the MaGIC accelerator. The school’s ecologically sustainable design and focus on sustainability education for young students are remarkable! The campus of buildings is built entirely from sustainably-harvested bamboo and is powered by renewable energy systems. It was an amazing experience to meet and get inspired by the people who run one of the world's greenest and most sustainable educational institutions!

Following the example of its neighbour Oslo, which became the first capital city to divest from fossil fuels, Copenhagen is a step away from withdrawing 6.9 bn DKK investment fund of all holdings in coal, oil and gas. The decision will be made at a finance committee meeting today. If approved, it will be a big step for Denmark towards reaching its goal to becoming the world's first CO2 neutral capital by 2025.

It’s been a week since the historic signing ceremony of the Paris Agreement on climate change that gathered 175 countries. Was that enough to save the planet? The Academy Award winner and longtime environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio gave another rousing speech before assembled world leaders about the urgency of taking action now. “No more talk, no more excuses, no more 10-year studies.” Watch his entire speech below.

Being able to bike to work is just one of the advantages of working in Denmark. Most of our team members are biking to and from the office every day. Biking is not only healthy, but also immensely beneficial in fighting the climate change. Here is an interesting report by the European Cyclists’ Federation which proves that.

Today we celebrate Earth Day, a special day which reminds us that we can all take small steps towards protecting the environment. On this occasion, we would like to thank all the people who have helped us achieve our first milestone in terms of environmental impact. With the support of our local community, we ended 2015 with 500 planted trees. This is the result of several pilot tests ran with a minimum viable product in order to test our business idea. Every planted tree stands for one person who believed in us, but most of all in his/her own power to make a positive change for our planet. If we managed to achieve that without even launching our app, we look forward to seeing what we can achieve together this year. Speak up! Make a change!

Over 130 countries have confirmed their attendance at the signing ceremony of the Paris Climate Change Agreement that will take place at UN headquarters on 22nd April. To mark this special ceremony, UNFCCC encourages everyone to plant trees. Why trees? Because “forests will be key allies for combating climate change and meeting the long term goal of restoring the ecological balance of planet Earth by the second half of the century”. The time to act is now. Don’t think that your actions are too small to make a change. Together, we are stronger!

In New York, on April 22, governments will sign the new Paris climate change agreement en route to it coming into force as millions of people around the globe mark the annual Earth Day or International Mother Earth Day.
