A sincere thank you to Julie Neenan Souza and Thomas Lutz from the (AWS) Sports and Media Team for the opportunity to have Christian Holzer join you on stage at the event last week in Munich.

It was a great pleasure to discuss the latest developments and ideas to 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 with the help of digital innovations with you and to network with may other market leaders like Andreas Heyden (Dyn Media) and many more.

We already look forward to the upcoming events like the AWS re:invent 2025 in Las Vegas.

🔍 From agents to insights: What’s driving measurable impact in sport?

Our CEO Christian Holzer had the opportunity to share our perspective on the use of artificial intelligence in sports during a panel discussion with Christopher Dix (ATP Tour), Bill Bailey (Satisfi Labs), and Nick Meachem (SportsPro). He presented our current and future AI initiatives with a clear goal: to transform data into real added value for leagues, clubs, media partners and fans.

What we took away from the discussion:

⚙️ AI has long since arrived in practice—from automated game data analysis to assisted decision-making processes.
🚧 Challenges remain, especially when it comes to the interplay between technology, organization, and mindset.
🎯 The key to success: AI solutions must be geared toward specific goals – whether athletic, commercial, or fan engagement.

We believe:
👉 Artificial intelligence is no longer a topic for the future – it is a strategic tool for further developing sport.

📊 New Bundesliga Match Fact „Match Momentum“ is live! ⚽️

Since the last match day, the official Match Facts powered by AWS have been expanded by a new metric:

We are excited to share that the entire development process from the initial concept to the implementation of this new statistic was carried out by our team in collaboration with (AWS) and DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga.

🔎 Match Momentum provides real-time insights into which team is dominating the match - highliting momentum shifts, pressure phases and the impact of key moments on the flow of the match. The calculation is based on the actions of the past five minutes and includes events such as:

🥅 Goals
🎯 Shots (including xG & xSave)
📊 Entries into the Attacking Zones
🚨 Red Cards
⚽️ Corner/Crosses into the box and ball touches in the box
