Our colleague Florian Keitgen joined the TYPO3 University Days 2026 last month together with our client SRH University. He reports it being a really unique event full of valuable exchange with the students at Fachhochschule Erfurt, introducing them to TYPO3 and hearing their expectations. Special thanks goes to Eric Schümann from Universität Erfurt and all the other organisers who contribute greatly to building these bridges!

"When there were bugs or things needed changing, we often had very long waiting times."

That's how Robin Renz describes TAE's website before 2020. The TAE – Technische Akademie Esslingen e.V. runs 800–1,000 seminars, courses, and conferences a year—on a TYPO3 site that looked dated and couldn't keep up.

Today, is a custom booking platform: bookable like an online shop, no customer account needed. With a shopping cart, public reviews, waitlists, credit card payment, and a two-way connection to TAE's training database.

There was no standard TYPO3 module for any of it. We built each feature around how TAE's customers actually book—usually through HR or purchasing, not the participant.

Since then: an upgrade from TYPO3 v12 to within one year with our Evergreen service, and Mail Queue as an early warning system for every outgoing email.

In response to the EU AI Act, we announced our Extension AI Label earlier this month, promising it would be released mid August... and here we are!

What your page visitors actually look at is the overall consistency of your site, a major trust signal! Inconsistency or wrong international formatting of phone numbers in the frontend is a case that most often gets overlooked but where it really matters!

This is where our little extension phone_number comes in. It does one thing: it takes the phone number an editor has already stored—as a tel: link or a raw string—and formats it for output in the frontend.
