When the fax machine represented innovation in communication, at Farfisa we had already created a home system capable of managing security, comfort and communication. It was 1990, the future was knocking at the door and Scudo, one of the first home automation systems, answered.

Negli anni ’70 il mondo correva veloce: nascevano microprocessori e i primi satelliti, prendevano forma le tecnologie che avrebbero cambiato il nostro modo di comunicare. In quello scenario di innovazione abbiamo prodotto il nostro primo videocitofono, pensato per rendere più semplice e sicura la vita quotidiana. Un design essenziale, solido, intuitivo.

We continue our journey through the history of Farfisa Intercoms by revisiting some of its most iconic products. Today’s spotlight is on the PMX80, introduced in 1968 as the very first intercom switchboard.
At the time, the world was changing rapidly, and technology, communication, and security were becoming increasingly demanding fields. As cities expanded and access management grew more complex, Farfisa took the lead by launching the PMX80 series, a groundbreaking solution for that era.
The PMX80 line soon achieved international success: a fully customizable range of intercom switchboards designed to make even complex systems simple, reliable, and suitable for both residential and professional environments.
Today, Farfisa continues to innovate with the very same spirit!

Il mondo cambiava rapidamente, la realtà era sfidante anche su tecnologia, comunicazione e sicurezza. In questo contesto, in cui le città crescevano e diventava sempre più difficile la gestione degli accessi, Farfisa è leader, lanciando su mercato la serie PMX80. Anche sul piano internazionale la gamma PXM80 ha grande successo: una gamma di centralini citofonici personalizzabili che rendono semplice e affidabile un sistema citofonico anche complesso, sia in ambito residenziale che nel business.

1967, The First Farfisa Intercom / 1967, Il primo citofono Farfisa

These were the years of the economic boom, revolutions, and feminism. A new atmosphere could be felt even at home: families began to experience new freedoms, including relief from the burden of housework. Hence the spread of cars and household appliances! The intercom was also born, a sign of the new urban structure: larger apartment buildings and emerging market demand for security. Everything in the home met criteria of functionality, reliability and design, so the finishes were meticulously crafted.
The historic company Farfisa, known for musical instruments, was experiencing strong industrial growth and boasting powerful technological and commercial expertise. With sound and electronics in its DNA, Farfisa decided to bet on a new division: Intercoms Systems. In 1967, the first Farfisa intercom was born: the 200 series!

Sono gli anni del boom economico, delle rivoluzioni e del femminismo. Si respira aria nuova anche in casa: le famiglie iniziano a scoprire nuove libertà, anche dall’oppressione della fatica dei lavori domestici. Ecco, quindi, la diffusione di automobili e elettrodomestici! Nasce anche il citofono, un segno che indica anche la nuova struttura urbana: abitazioni in palazzi più grandi e una prima richiesta del mercato in campo di sicurezza. Tutto ciò che è in casa risponde a criteri di funzionalità, affidabilità, ma anche design, quindi finiture sono estremamente curate.
La storica azienda Farfisa strumenti musicali è in fortissima crescita industriale e con un potente know how tecnologico e anche commerciale. Ha nel DNA il suono e l’elettronica, scommette dunque in una nuova divisione: la Citofonia. Nel 1967 nasce il primo citofono Farfisa: la serie 200!!
