Die Firma wird 1944 als Elektrounternehmen Unis in Radebeul bei Dresden durch Richard Weber gegründet und trägt seit 1954 den Namen Metra. Lenk und Dr. Erler die ersten Entwicklungen piezoelektrischer Schwingungssensoren. Anlass zur Einführung dieser damals neuartigen Sensortechnik ist die Entwicklung von Düsentriebwerken für Passagierflugzeuge in Pirna / Sachsen. In den 60er und 70er Jahren entwi

ckelt Metra ein umfassendes Produktsortiment von Schwingungssensoren, Mess- und Anzeigegeräten. Die Entwicklung und Produktion von Piezokeramik erfolgt im Werk.

1970 wird der erste Scher-Beschleunigungsaufnehmer entwickelt.

1972 erfolgt die Verstaatlichung des Unternehmens.

1981 wird Metra Teilbetrieb des Kombinats Präcitronic. In den 70er und 80er Jahren entwickelt sich Metra zum Monopolanbieter von Schwingungssensoren im osteuropäischen Wirtschaftsraum RGW. Hauptabnehmer ist die Sowjetunion mit einem Volumen von über 30000 Sensoren pro Jahr.

1989 werden erste IEPE-kompatible Beschleunigungsaufnehmer entwickelt.

1990 erfolgt die Reprivatisierung an Manfred Weber, den Sohn des Firmengründers. Ab 1990 tiefgreifende Neuorientierung auf die Märkte in Westeuropa und Übersee und Konsolidierung. Metra konzentriert sich auf den Kernbereich Schwingungsmesstechnik. Die Bereiche Tonfilmtechnik, Sauerstoffmesstechnik und NF-Messtechnik werden nicht weitergeführt. Metra heute:

Metra ist heute ein international etablierter Hersteller piezoelektrischer Schwingungsmesstechnik mit einem breiten Produktsortiment. Das Unternehmen beschäftigt über 25 Mitarbeiter in Entwicklung, Produktion und Verwaltung. Aufgrund seiner Größe ist Metra in der Lage, flexibel auf Kundenwünsche zu reagieren. Weiterführung des Familienunternehmens in der dritten Generation durch Michael Weber.

The VM100 vibration analyzer was designed for the typical
tasks of vibration measurement in laboratories and production
facilities. Despite its large range of functions, the
main focus was on ease-of-use.
The instrument software is modular, so you only need to
pay for what you need. New functions can be added later
on.
The compact unit provides up to nine IEPE compatible
sensor channels which is an outstanding feature.
All commercially available IEPE accelerometers can be
connected. Please choose from our wide range of vibration
sensors.
In addition, some modules support measurements with
IEPE type sensors for force and pressure and with IEPE
microphones.

In 2019, the company introduced an integrated management system, which was certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 in the same year. Since 2022 our calibration laboratory is DAkkS accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
The accreditation is valid for the scope defined in the certificate annex D-K-21664-01-00.
