As we are more than just colleagues and have a very friendly relationship, we also like to do things together in our free time. 💪
Some of our colleagues from the Munich office got together for a ski trip and shared this fantastic panorama with us. ⛷️🏔️

Our dear Anna has been a valuable support to us for 3️⃣ years as a working student in various areas. Her One Data Journey started in January 2021 as a working student in Recruiting. There she was instrumental in building up our Data Science department. 🚀
Wanting to see other areas of our People & Culture department, Anna moved to our Learning & Development team after a year, where she helped develop some concepts and organized training sessions. One project she really enjoyed there was creating an e-learning course on interviewing, where she learned a lot about project management and design.
More recently, she has made a valuable contribution to our People Happiness team, among other things helping to organize internal events. 💪

Sadly, it is now time to say goodbye. Anna is in the final stages of her degree in International Cultural and Business Studies and will be doing an internship abroad in HR (apparently, we made HR attractive to you - that makes us happy 😉). We wish you lots of fun and great experiences!

We have great news! Ioana, our apprentice for the profession of office administrator, has been awarded the "Doing Business in the English-Speaking World" certificate by the German-British Chamber of Industry & Commerce with distinction. 🥳

The certification consisted of a two-part exam: a written part and an oral part, which involved giving a 15-minute presentation on a business topic. Ioana's topic was: “The Diversity of Ethnic Origins in London and Their Position in the City Today”. 💯

Ioana, congratulations on this outstanding achievement - you really deserve it! 👏 We are delighted to celebrate this achievement with you, and we are looking forward to following your progress. 💚

Meet our lovely Product Engineering team, Guardians! 👋

As part of a team event, our 10-strong Product Engineering team had the opportunity to learn how sweets are made from scratch. The team noticed some parallels to their daily work in candy production, for example they realized that it can also be challenging to create hexagons in candy production - in this case the team opted for squares. 😉

The other colleagues were also able to enjoy the coconut vanilla flavored sweets – fortunately for us, the Guardians like to share. 😋

On a day-to-day basis, the Guardians of One Data support our Project Delivery teams as an independent Product Engineering team. The team consists of Consultant Guardians (Customer Delivery Engineers), Guardians (DevOps Engineers) and the Developer Pool. The team takes on individual tasks for the delivery of a project and is responsible for the infrastructure and DevOps work packages in the planning of a project. The Guardians support the go-live of our solutions, the development and maintenance of custom applications, and migration to the cloud. 👩‍💻

After a productive workshop, they well deserve to sweeten their afternoon. 🍭 🍬

🎬 Last but not least, we would like to introduce you to Andreas!
Andreas has successfully completed his Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Information Systems and International Management & Marketing.

Andreas heard about One Data from a fellow student and luckily, further research and a shared passion for data convinced him to join us. His One Data journey began in February 2022 as a Data Science Working Student. 🙌

As a working student, Andreas was part of our product engineering team "Firebrick" 🔥 and helped the team develop the foundations for our AI-powered Data Product Builder, gaining insights into agile product development. From his time as a working student, Andreas has learnt that in the world of data, especially in an applied context, it is all about how quickly you can pick up new topics and learn new things - because it is almost impossible to know everything in advance.

Andreas has now joined our project delivery team "Snow" ❄️as a Data Analyst and is looking forward to his new challenge. 💪

Thank you, Andreas, for your tireless efforts. We are delighted that you have chosen us again as your first employer. We are looking forward to our common future and your further development! 💚

🎬 Next, we would like to introduce Mahdieh. Mahdieh has successfully completed her master’s in computer science at the University of Passau and is now joining our IT Admins & Cloud Services team as a further Junior System Engineer. We are delighted that Mahdieh has once again decided to join us. 🎓

Mahdieh's One Data journey began in June 2022 as a Working Student IT Administration. She took on tasks such as system updates, service desk support or endpoint management and eagerly supported our colleagues with hardware or software problems. Mahdieh found these tasks very interesting as she was able to keep up to date with the latest software patches and technologies. 🚀

Mahdieh's best One Data moments came during her intimate team gatherings and workshops, but also at our company parties. She particularly enjoys the friendly environment and the opportunity to celebrate our achievements and successes by bringing different departments together like One Family. 🙌

Mahdieh, we would also like to thank you for your dedication and IT support, always accompanied by a warm smile. We are looking forward to our common future. 💚

We have a number of positive developments to announce in the coming weeks. Some of our working students have completed their studies and chosen One Data as their first employer - which makes us very happy! 👏

🎬 First of all, we would like to introduce Chaima:

Chaima came to Passau about 3 years ago and heard about One Data from a friend. When she researched One Data, we were lucky enough to be able to convince her of our vision - and luckily, we still can. 💪

Chaima started in April 2021 as a Working Student IT System Administration and is now a Junior System Engineer in our IT Admins & Cloud Services team. As a working student, she has been a valuable support on various projects and is now looking forward to taking on more responsibility and gaining more experience. 🚀

Chaima is part of the strong base of our Passau office and prefers to work in the office within our hybrid working model. For Chaima, working in the office allows for better interaction with colleagues to discuss challenges or just enjoy a good lunch together. 🍝

Chaima, thank you for your valuable contribution and tireless efforts!

When you work where others go on holiday... Or you can combine them! 🙏
At One Data you have the opportunity to combine work and holiday. Our colleagues can apply to work within the EU up to 40 working days a year. This gives them the opportunity to visit family members abroad or extend their holidays. Our colleague Stephanie (HR Generalist), for example, chose the second option. 🏝️

Stephanie spent two weeks travelling around France with her boyfriend. This was made possible by extending her week off with another week of Workation. This gave her plenty of time to explore our neighbouring country. Stephanie successfully used the autumn to soak up the sun and warmth and replenish her vitamin D stores. 🏖️ ☀️

This was Stephanie's first Workation experience and she came back with positive feedback. Stephanie concluded that returning to work mode was less stressful. Linking work and holiday allowed her to make a smoother transition into her working life, rather than returning to work mode abruptly. Thanks to our flexible working model, Stephanie was able to organize her day to suit her needs and was able to shorten her working days a little by putting in a few hours of overtime. 🧘‍♀️

An apple a day keeps the doctor away – and so does exercise! 🍎🤸‍♂️

As part of our company health management program, our colleagues had the opportunity to take part in the "Active Break" from August until today. Unfortunately, the last session has already taken place today.

Our colleagues were able to attend sessions on specific dates at our sites in Passau, Munich, and Frankfurt, or participate remotely from the comfort of their own homes.

The "Active Breaks" took place at lunchtime and gave our colleagues the opportunity to dedicate 20 minutes to their health and recharge their batteries for the day. 🧘🏻‍♂️

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank TK (our company health insurance provider) for the wonderful offer and their fantastic and passionate trainers - you were fantastic! 💚

Meet our charming platform engineering team Hyper Drive! 👋

Fabian, Sabir, Thomas and Simon are responsible for CI/CD and Platform Engineering. Collaboration environments where the latest developments of our product are integrated and deployed, CI/CD pipelines, helm charts etc. are their focus and they support and onboard teams in these topics. 👨‍💻

A few weeks ago, Hyper Drive also organized a team event in Passau and took a trip into the world of brewing by visiting the “Hacklberg” brewery on the banks of the Danube. The guide and beer sommelier Jasmin gave a great tour with many interesting insights. During a small tasting session, the team learned about the different aromas and flavors of beer in relation to its ingredients: hops, malt and water. 🍺

The team event was a relaxing end to a productive workshop day with lots of discussions about what to focus on next and how to solve the current challenges. Work hard - relax well and don't forget to enjoy. 🚀

Ioana, our apprentice for the profession of office administrator, had the opportunity to spend four weeks in Ireland as part of an ERASMUS+ program. 🙌

Ioana spent two weeks in Galway on an internship with a supplier of e-bikes. 🚲 There she was able to help promote e-bikes and interact with customers. She also spent two weeks at Griffith College, where she experienced Irish college life. 🎓

In addition to the daily work and college routine, Ioana took part in a variety of activities and excursions, such as the International Arts Festival and a trip to the Cliffs of Moher, to experience and get to know the country. 🏞️☘️

Ioana had the opportunity to improve her English, learn about daily life in Ireland and make some new friends. It was an enriching experience for her to meet different cultures and people and to get to know herself a little better. 🚀

Ioana, we are delighted that you have shared these wonderful experiences with us. 💚
