𝗥𝗼𝗵𝗱𝗲 & 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝘄𝗮𝗿𝘇 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀

With a new building complex, Rohde & Schwarz will make a long-term investment in its Munich headquarters in the Werksviertel district. The plans include a five-story building as well as a 65 meters high tower that will serve as an architectural landmark in the cityscape. The new buildings will replace older existing structures from the 1920s and 1950s that no longer meet today’s requirements.

In addition to modern work and development spaces, the focus is also on urban design quality: The so-called Campusband, a green axis running through the Werksviertel, will be extended across our site, strengthening the connection to the surrounding neighborhood.

One of the winning designs of the international architecture competition was submitted by Snøhetta Innsbruck. It stands out for its generous glass surfaces and a stepped façade design and is the favorite design of Rohde & Schwarz.

The designs from all participating architectural firms will be presented in a public exhibition in the Werksviertel from June 11 to 23, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.

🔬Advanced training and collaboration with the .
Rohde & Schwarz Italia was proud to host for three days the lieutenants of the Corps of Engineers of the 202nd session of the Technical Application Course (CTA).

🎓The training course dealt with technical subjects of which R&S is the market leader. In particular, the in-depth study covered the foundations of theory and practice for measurements in the field and spectrum analysis. The technologies underlying (EW), electronic communications support and countermeasures (CESM and CECM) systems were illustrated. Finally, we also studied the foundations of theory and practice in the field of Mobile Network Testing.

Three days of concrete discussion, sharing expertise, and in-depth analysis of strategic technologies for the present and future of national Armed Forces.

On July 1, 2026, Hansjörg Herrbold and Andreas Hägele will jointly take over the management of the Technology Systems Division at Rohde & Schwarz. Together, they are focussing the division even more on customers, markets and future challenges.

🔹 Hansjörg Herrbold: With over 20 years of experience in the defense industry at R&S, he has driven sustainable growth in the Marine Communications segment and most recently led the Information and Business Technology division at Rohde & Schwarz.

🔹 Andreas Hägele: An expert in critical infrastructure and security, he helped build the Microwave Imaging business unit and led the R&S QPS Security Scanner to international success - today, more than 2,000 units are in use worldwide.

What unites them: strategic vision, customer focus and the drive to continually push the boundaries of what is possible. Both will now be part of the R&S Corporate Management.

We wish Hansjörg Herrbold and Andreas Hägele every success in their new roles and thank Dr. Luis Alexander Orellano, who has led the division until now.
