🤖 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗯 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲. 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

While these movements may look entertaining, they are part of our first steps in exploring how humanoid robots could support future production and logistics processes.

Developing humanoid robots requires a completely new way of thinking. Instead of telling the robot how to perform every movement, engineers define the task and the robot learns how to accomplish it.

An important part of the development takes place in a virtual environment using the NVIDIA Omniverse framework, where tasks and movements are developed, simulated and validated before being transferred to the physical robot. Using VR/XR technology, engineers can also teleoperate the robot, allowing it to learn from real human movements while collecting data for future training.

Working with humanoid robots means adopting new engineering skills while exploring the latest advances in AI, simulation and autonomous systems.

The question is no longer if humanoid robots will become part of industrial production, but when. That's why we're already exploring potential use cases and preparing for the next era of manufacturing.

Rohde & Schwarz USA celebrated the grand opening of a new manufacturing center in Frederick, Maryland to support the Federal Aviation Administration’s brand new Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) initiative and the nationwide modernization of voice communication systems.

The facility is designed to manufacture the next‑generation CERTIUM Voice Communication System and features advanced manufacturing and testing capabilities. The expansion complements our existing operations in Coppell, Texas, to meet the pace of the FAA program.

Today’s milestone also marks the completion of Wave 1 of the FAA deployment with the installation of the 140th CERTIUM VCS, ahead of schedule. The first system under the FAA contract went live in September 2025 at Allegheny County Airport (Pittsburgh International Airport), representing the first modern VoIP VCS in the National Airspace System under this contract.

In Samoa, our Head of Spectrum Monitoring & Analytics Mark Tell and Senior Application Engineer Lead Ranjish Bhaskaran provided training to staff from the Office of the Regulator.

This training was on a range of Rohde & Schwarz equipment, including QualiPoc devices (for measuring mobile phone quality of service), R&S®PR200 spectrum monitoring receivers, and R&S®HE400 directional antenna kits.

Our team was also fortunate enough to spend some time conducting field tests and enjoying the stunning scenery and hospitality that Samoa has to offer 🌄

Long before intelligent, electric and autonomous vehicles became reality, Rohde & Schwarz was already shaping the future of automotive technology.

One example is the R-S ESA car radio from 1950. To prove its performance under real-world conditions, it was tested on the road in a company-owned Volkswagen Beetle equipped with oversized roof antennas. A photo of this legendary car was the centerpiece of this eye-catching pink advertisement.

At the time, the R-S ESA brought reliable entertainment and communication into the car through practical engineering and outstanding performance.

💡 By the way: On this day 94 years ago, Europe’s first mass-produced car radio, the "Autosuper 5", was launched at the Berlin Radio Show (Berliner Funkausstellung - today IFA Berlin). This marked a milestone in the history of car audio technology and the beginning of a new era of automotive innovation.
