Honoring Luis Ferreira Alves, this award invites photographers to capture the unseen spatial, social, and atmospheric dimensions of architecture and celebrate the creative dialogue between photography and design.

⭐ First Prize of €10,000
⭐ Second Prize of €4,000
⭐ Third Prize includes a €1,500 voucher for photographic equipment.

The 2026 edition also introduces the Portuguese Emerging Photography Prize, created to recognise and give visibility to a new national talent (voucher worth €1,500 for the purchase of photographic equipment)!

The international jury for the 2026 edition comprises Valeria Carullo, Photographs Curator at the Royal Institute of British Architects; Paolo Rosselli, photographer and architect (Paolo Rosselli); and João Pedro Serôdio (João Pedro Serôdio), architect and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto.

Selected projects will become part of the official exhibition and publication. The Award is conceived as a wider cultural and editorial programme, with LFA Talks (public event and podcast) extending the competition beyond the moment of selection and creating further contexts for discussion around photography and architecture.

: Looking for a publication opportunity that reimagines what “environment” means? 🌍

Submissions are open for Der Greif () Issue 19, guest-edited by renowned visual activist Zanele Muholi () and supported by Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung (.tutsek.stiftung). Inspired by the theme “I Am Because of You, Mother Earth,” this open call invites photographers, writers, poets, and essayists to explore the connections between body, land, community, memory, and belonging.

Selected works will be considered for publication in Der Greif Issue 19, participation in related events at Paris Photo () and beyond, and a potential Artist Feature on dergreif.org. Two outstanding submissions will also receive €1,000 stipends, supported by Curt Wills-Stiftung (), along with a dedicated editorial conversation.

MENA Panorama: A PhotoVogue Open Call for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Diaspora is now accepting submissions on Picter.

At Picter, we’re proud to host opportunities that support image-makers shaping contemporary visual culture. This open call invites artists from the MENA region and its diaspora to share work that moves beyond singular narratives and reflects the complexity, resilience, and diversity of the region through photography, video, and multimedia practices.

We’re looking for projects with a strong point of view, whether rooted in personal storytelling, identity, experimentation, or new visual languages that challenge conventions across documentary, fashion, fine art, and beyond.

The C/O Berlin Talent Award 2026 is dedicated to the theme Body Politics. The term describes the complex interplay of power, institutions, and discourses that shape, control, or render bodies (in)visible. In a time marked by multiple overlapping crises, the body once again emerges as a central site of resistance, identity, and memory. What role do photography and lens-based media play in making these
tensions visible and reflecting upon them? This year’s theme invites participants to explore the body as a political field, as an archive of experience, or a medium at the
intersection of the individual and society.

The award honors both artistic and theoretical practice. Winning in the Theorist category includes:
• A scholarly essay in the accompanying publication
• Collaboration and exchange with the Artist awardee
• €5,000 prize money

Applicants must be theorists, curators, and researchers working in the field of photography and lens-based media aged 18–35 whose focus is within the field photography or other lens-based media and particularly, body politics.
