Coding Camp Cologne 2026: Giving AI a Character 🤖
AI can generate text, write code, and solve complex problems. But can it develop a personality and find its way through the physical world?
That's exactly what our Coding Camp in Cologne was all about.
From October 2–9, computer science students joined us to turn lines of code into intelligent robot characters, each with its own personality and capabilities.
Alongside our itestra engineers, they explored the possibilities of Agentic Software Engineering, bringing together LLMs, tool calling, memory systems, hardware abstraction layers, and video-based navigation.
The challenge wasn't just to make things work. It was to figure out how different technologies could work together to create something that thinks, acts, and interacts.
A week of experimenting, debugging, rethinking approaches, and seeing ideas come to life. A big thank you to everyone who brought their curiosity, creativity, and engineering skills to Cologne. It was a pleasure building with you!
