NTN standardisation for 5G satellites by ESA ALIX project is well on track in 3GPP Rel.16. - It is a pleasure working with you Gouta Maria, Nicolas Chuberre, Toon Norp, Thomas Heyn, Christiane Dietrich and all the others part of this project.

Just a few achievements:
-Rel.15 and Rel.16 study items have been created at SA1, SA2, RAN, RAN1 and RAN3
-Agreed Rel.16 RAN3 study item was supported by 64 companies at RAN plenary
-Extensive work ongoing in SA1, SA2, RAN WG1, RAN WG2 and RAN WG3 with many contributions
-13 calls of the Special Satellite Interest Group for coordination of the satellite industry
-Significant support by SSIG members within the different 3GPP groups

Our new targets are
-Progress at the upcoming RAN WGs meeting in Athens and in SA1 in Tallinn
-Successful completion of the Rel.16 study items to prepare Rel.17 standardisation
-Successful creation of Rel.17 work items to standardize 5G satellite integration in 3GPP NR

Thanks to all members for rapporteurship, chaimenship, funding and all the late hours work. Thanks also for all the contributions by all the other companies and the support by the chairmen.

A good example how verticals can influence major organisations like 3GPP.
