At the beginning of March, I had the chance to attend Laracon EU 2026 in Amsterdam, and it was once again an incredible experience.
Beyond all the exciting updates in Laravel, what stood out most was connecting with so many passionate developers and getting the chance to look over the shoulders of some of the best minds in modern web development.
Here are a few of my personal highlights:
• Dan Harrin diving deep into parts of the architecture of Filament, a framework I’ve been using daily for the past 5 years
• Simon Hamp and Shane Rosenthal going “Super Native” and building incredibly fast mobile apps using NativePHP
• Luke Kuzmish basically picking my brain and explaining how to do Effective Code Reviews in development teams
• Taylor Otwell showcasing the full power of Laravel Cloud and the Laravel AI ecosystem - building, fixing, merging, and deploying within minutes
• Watching AI-assisted development move beyond the “Vibe Coding” phase into something truly efficient and production-ready, with packages like Laravel Boost, Laravel AI SDK, and tools like Polyscope by Marcel Pociot
• Reconnecting with old friends and colleagues like Hussam Itani, Stanislav Hannes, Paul Karastelev, and Tim Sterker
• Great conversations around PHP, tech, and business with inspiring people like Lukas M., Michael Lefrancois, and Christian Wendler
• Being interviewed about Clean Coding by Yannick Kupferschmidt from byte5 GmbH
• And of course… the insane amount of merch 😄
The Laravel ecosystem is evolving fast, especially with AI becoming a natural part of the development workflow. At the same time, what hasn’t changed is the shared passion for PHP, Laravel & web development, and the opportunity to exchange ideas with other developers who are just as excited about building great things.
Already looking forward to the next Laracon EU 🚀
