Many have also reported that they were asked to boot the notebooks in airports.

Most online banking pin generators can be broken in less than 15 minutes.

Many banks secure their online banking with RSA hardware token devices that generate a new key every minute. Hackers found a way on how to extract the cryptographic keys from those token in around 13 minutes.

According to the article, RSA SecurID 800 are vulnerable, but also the Token Aladdin eTokenPro, iKey 2032 von SafeNet, Gematos CyberFlex und Siemens CardOS…

DriveCrypt customers are not affected by this vulnerability because even if our solution can be used in conjunction with the above unsecure token, it always was our philosophy not to trust any third party manufacturer therefore our software generates an extra key on the token used to secure everything up. This generated key is made by DriveCrypt and cannot be reversed anyhow.

Is your password secure?

The weakest point in your security is often your password.
People often use very simply passwords such as their surname, their lover name, their birthday or any other guessable name. As a matter of fact you should understand that computers are good in trying different combination is very limited time… 100.000 combinations in just a few minutes.

So, if your password is “Elevator” a hacker may do a dictionary attack, meaning using software that checks all the words contained in a dictionary and after only some seconds find the word “Elevator”. So how does a good password look like?

A good password is at least 13 characters long and complex. At the same time it is easy to remember.
We suggest using a sentence as a password.

Example: “My name is Tom, I was born in 1945 and I am cool :-) “

Such a password is 52 characters long but it is still easy to remember, it contains low and uppercase characters as well as numbers and even special characters (space, colon, parenthesis etc…). This easy to remember password is very strong and cannot be guessed by any computer.

If your password field is much shorter you can just use the initials for every word in your sentence:
”MniT,iwbi1aIac:-)”

Keep your data safe, use good passwords and change them periodically.
