Yesterday our Campaign reached its end and we couldn’t be happier with the result of 130% funding!
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of YOU who supported us!
Looking back on our Kickstarter so far, there are a lot of things we can reflect on:
1. When planning a product you never know all the possible use cases. Once you are in direct contact with your (possible) you will get whole new ideas. In our case, we didn’t think of the possibility to make it a family calendar.
2. The curve of our going up in the beginning was rather steep and linear, which gave us a lot of hope that we could actually reach our funding goal faster than we thought. After the first week it started stagnating and als sometimes we lost backers along the way, which was super frustrating for us, but absolutely normal. In general we would have loved to receive some on why people changed their mind about our project! In the end we saw a final run with more pledges than we anticipated, which was a nice surprise.
3. We really saw different behavior regarding pledges and canceling pledges when it was the beginning of the month or the end of the month, which could have been due to money issues.
4. Most of the traffic we saw on came through the platform itself. Most of our backers come from the and . Backers from the were less than we anticipated.
5. There are many scammers wanting to provide „marketing“ services for your project, making it sometimes difficult to pick out the and ones.
6. In general, as two techies, we really underestimated the importance of and a well thought out marketing plan. Having underestimated that, we also spent way more time preparing posts for different media platforms, taking to the press and answering eMails from interested marketing agencies and backers than we thought. Thanks at this point to Magazine and .atlas .
Looking back we already learned a lot along the way and are still really excited for the steps coming next and all the skills and we’ll learn going .
BIG THANKS,
