Can these students help our company solve programming tasks? 🤔

We at Optimax are proud to have hosted the LSGM Maths Workshop for A-level students again and it was an incredibly rewarding experience. Kids solved many complex problems with clever answers!

💡 The workshop was designed to give the students an insight into real-life maths and programming problems that our company deals with every day. They were also very interested in how programming is used in our work.

😁 Sebastian, our analytics student, provided some challenging exercises for the children, encouraging them to work collaboratively, solve problems and critically analyse the results. Seeing the students' enthusiasm for mathematics and their ability to apply it in innovative ways was fantastic.

📝 Our aim for the workshop was to inspire and motivate this young generation to have confidence in their abilities and to show them the relevance of their skills.

😉 We were delighted to have hosted this event and look forward to hosting similar ones in the future. We firmly believe that these workshops not only benefit the students but also our team, by giving them the opportunity to share their expertise with the new ones!

Snow, slopes, and Spätzle – our ski trip to the alps! 🏔

⛷ Some of our colleagues organized a private to the Zillertal ski resort in Austria! Within 6 hours we arrived at our residence with a great view through the high mountains and the beautiful valley.

☀ Every day we had, as they call it in Austria, “Kaiserwetter” and enjoyed skiing on a great variety of slopes – from beginner to expert, everyone had a lot of fun and shared their tips and tricks with one another.

🍲 At the end of an active day, we even found ourselves cooking together, sharing recipes and stories. After dinner, some of us were even up for a pleasant round of board games while others relaxed in the whirlpool. This brought us even closer together as a team and outside of work!

👟 Work-live balance is a very important topic for us at Optimax. We place great value on sporting compensation for our colleagues and even offer many opportunities for after-work activities at our office in Leipzig.

Welcome, João! – Optimax’s new executive chef 👨‍🍳

Having a lot of experience as a cook in different countries in Europe, João will support our Team with fresh and healthy dishes from all over the world.

🥦 We attach great importance to having a well-balanced lunch for the company – with mostly vegan and vegetarian options. During these first weeks, we’ve had the opportunity to eat homemade focaccia, pumpkin ginger soup, and mushroom risotto.

💪 João is an all-around talent from Portugal and will also greatly support our office maintenance along with Denis.

🎵 Having a lot of interests, in his free time João enjoys playing the guitar and learning a variety of languages.

Our team is more than happy & grateful to have access to fresh healthy meals every day. 😋 This is another valuable benefit at Optimax and encourages even more colleagues to come into the office. Find out more about our benefits on our website!

Our company pays us for playing with 😁

As a funny kick-off exercise at our branding workshop last week, every participant used Lego to build something creative and gave a 1-minute pitch presentation about it. It may sound silly, but it was a great way to get creative and set the tone for the day. 😊

👁 During the workshop, we discussed the importance of strong brand identity and how it can impact every stakeholder’s perception and loyalty.

🗯 We discussed many topics from benefits to attitudes and feelings about our company’s identity. This will lead us to the creation of a new corporate design at Optimax in the next few months. Stay tuned for more information!

Our company tries to eat vegan for one month! 😁

For everyone who doesn’t know the idea: Veganuary is a movement that encourages people to go on a vegan diet in January. We at Optimax motivated our employees to try it out and got a lot of positive feedback. Diana for example, made a banana bread and homemade herbal dips 😋

There are many benefits by doing the challenge: informing about animal agriculture, supporting local farmers, and experiencing exciting dishes. By choosing to try vegan, even just for a month, you can significantly reduce your carbon footprint. It’s also a great way to explore vegan restaurants in Leipzig or try out delicious recipes for family and friends. 🥦

Let’s start the new year with some good news! We hired two motivated talents for our marketing department at Optimax. Say hello to Diana and John! 😊 While both are professionals in marketing and communication, each one has different strengths and abilities. 💪 Diana got a lot of work experience in several positions, for instance as a visual merchandiser, department manager, and head of influencer marketing. She was also a speaker at the OMR festival in Hamburg. Our other new employee is John, who works at Optimax besides his master's studies at the HTWK Leipzig. He likes to do a lot of sports, like wave surfing and martial arts like Aikido. 🥋 Being interested in graphic design and videography, he rounds off the essential skills for our Optimax marketing team. We think these two talents will be a great addition to our team. 😁

Christmas time is almost over, let’s take a minute to pause and think about the last year. Without any doubt we are in very difficult and challenging times. We at Optimax try our very best to support, share and offer opportunities in many ways for our talented employees and future applicants. 😊 This year we hired a lot of experts and grow by their expertise every day. To make sure that everyone feels included and to get some insights on what colleagues enjoy doing in their free time, we introduced our team challenges in the beginning of this year. For November’s challenge, we motivated our colleagues to volunteer in and support NGOs and other charitable organizations. 💪 For every participant, Optimax donated 100 € to the Stiftung “Ecken Wecken” – a local organization that supports neighborhood and sustainability projects in Leipzig. In total, we were able to raise 2,600 € and presented the donation to the organization’s executive Thorsten Mehnert last Thursday. Together we can put our values into practice to achieve a sustainable future for everyone. We wish you all the best for the next year! Cheers! 🥳🎉

Christmas time also means challenge time at Optimax! 😉 For the last time of the year our colleges had the chance to participate in one of our team challenges. This time we invited our team to find out their favorite and secret recipes for mulled wine and all different kinds of Christmas cookies. 🍪Whether you like cinnamon stars, vanilla cookies or other kinds of cookies, everyone shared their tasty inspirations and biscuits at our tasting event last Thursday. Tamara brought some “Engelsaugen”, Lisa made some delicious gingerbread liquor and Martin surprised us with tasty widow's kisses. Our team always looks forward to delicious team events. 😋 Check out our next updates about our company challenges! Great news – we got new support for the IT department. 😁 Optimax grows through its new talented individuals from all over the world. Within three months Dmitrii and Chamara joined our team, having excellent expertise in their specific field of knowledge. Dmitrii took a long journey from Russia and Chamara even from Sri Lanka to work at our office in Leipzig. Both have very special journeys and interests.

Dmitrii worked for 3 months in Brazil and enjoys skydiving in his free time. 🪂And Chamara founded his own company in the past. Another big topic for our new employees is a healthy work-life balance. In their free time, Chamara enjoys practicing martial arts and Dmitrii played ice hockey for 19 years. 🥏Hopefully they can pursue their free time activities in their new hometown Leipzig.
