📚✨ Training the Next Generation of Textile Designers and Engineers

🇰🇷 STUDENTS IN KOREA LEARN ON EAT SOFTWARE 🇰🇷

Recently, Elin from our Korean representation had the opportunity to conduct a Jacquard design seminar at Hanyang Women's University using EAT DesignScope software with students.

The training focused on practical Jacquard fabric development processes used in the textile industry, covering important topics such as:

🧵 Applying Yarn Data to 3D Fabric Simulations

🪢 Seeing is believing - or how to evaluate weaves 🪢

3DWeave is a versatile software tool that enables users to develop, visualize, and analyze all types of fabrics—from simple weaves to highly complex multilayer weave constructions. It provides an intuitive platform for exploring the geometric 🔴🔺🔻🔶 and structural possibilities of weaving designs, making it suitable for both conceptual development and detailed pattern evaluation.

The process begins with defining specific weave parameters, such as the number of warps, wefts, layers, and the size and color of the yarns 🔢. Users can set these parameters precisely to match the desired fabric characteristics, ensuring an accurate digital representation of the woven structure. Once parameters are established, the software automatically generates a visualization of the weave, allowing for immediate inspection and assessment of the design.

Check and modify individual weaves and compound weaves with ease, making it simple to experiment with different patterns or make adjustments within any system. 🧮 The software supports the visualization of both single-layer weaves and multi-layer constructions, providing a comprehensive overview of how the various elements interact and combine.

One of the key features is the ability to connect different layers via specific points—which can be 📍 positioned, ➕ added, or ➖ removed as needed—and check these connections directly within the 3D view 🫵🏼. 🧶 Ever created your own yarns? 🧶

It’s awesome. With so much room for creativity. And flexibility as if you had your own spinning mill.

You can play with texture, filaments, brushing effects and twist. Combine fibers to create the yarn you really want to use - and simulate that in your next woven design. 🤓🤗 Even Lurex, chenilles, monofilaments and so forth… 🤗

Use different diameters, increase or decrease tension, play with colors. And let it all influence your fabric development and design.
