🚌 Next stop: Bahnhofstraße

As part of the Highway2Hightech bus tour, we recently welcomed a group of students to Creonic. It was a pleasure to present our company and provide practical insights into our daily work. Using our demonstrator, we showed how our IP cores behave in real time under real‑world conditions. 💻 📡

Our co‑founder joined the event for an open Q&A on spin‑offs and entrepreneurship, and we were really impressed by the initiative shown by many students who were ready to apply to our CEO directly and talk about future working student opportunities.

Today, our CEO Timo Lehnigk-Emden took part in the Startup & SME Session at the Chipdesign Germany Forum 2026 in Dresden. He joined representatives from Ubitium, LUBIS EDA, Celtro, Akhetonics, RAAAM Memory Technologies, and IgniteNext

The discussions made one thing very clear:
Germany’s chip design strength does not come from a single player. It emerges from a highly specialized, deeply interconnected ecosystem of startups, SMEs, and accelerators working along the entire value chain. Their design expertise directly impacts system performance and efficiency, innovation speed, and long-term technological sovereignty.

Chip design is a core pillar of Germany's High-Tech Agenda. The forum showed the depth and commitment already existing across the ecosystem.

Last week, our team had the opportunity to take part in a First Aid training session. Our colleague Max swapped his engineering tools for First Aid equipment. It was a great mix of practical exercises and essential knowledge, and we’re grateful for Max’s expertise and dedication. Smart update from Creonic: Doppler Channel IP core now supports L, S, C, X, Ku, and Ka bands, offering simulation across all major satellite ranges. It also extends its sampling frequency range from 50 kSps to 500 Gsps, bringing flexibility from low-rate to ultra-high-rate contexts.

This means more realism in satellite link modeling and a tool better suited to next-generation systems.

Exciting research results from our academic partner Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau

The Microelectronic Systems Design Research Group, led by Prof. Norbert Wehn has introduced CRADLE, a conversational framework for RTL design space exploration powered by LLM-based multi-agent systems.

Unlike rigid flows, CRADLE combines self-verification, correction, and optimization with interactive guidance. The results are remarkable — reductions of up to 48% in LUTs and 40% in FFs the selected FPGA benchmark designs.

For Creonic, this work is highly relevant: the ability to optimize VLSI resource usage directly supports faster and more efficient IP core development. This ensures that even complex communication systems can benefit from designs that are both resource-efficient and time-effective.
