In high-end audio, wood is frequently romanticized for its visual warmth and traditional elegance. But in Herford, we do not select materials simply to complement your living room furniture.
We approach wood not as decoration, but as a highly complex, naturally engineered acoustic metamaterial.
When a loudspeaker is tasked with reproducing massive dynamic shifts, particularly within the immense acoustic pressure of our transmission line architectures, the cabinet cannot simply act as a container. It must actively manage kinetic energy. The specific, high-density woods we utilize possess a specific cellular structure which absorbs internal resonances and dissipates kinetic energy that would otherwise bleed into the room, thereby blurring the sonic image. We don't use wood to artificially add anything to the music; we use it to ensure the cabinet itself remains perfectly, uncompromisingly silent.
A beautifully finished exterior is simply a byproduct. The true purpose of our wood construction is absolute physical control.
