Samsung Galaxy Spatial Photos and Spatial Videos test in immerGallery on Quest 3.

You can view the Samsung Spatial Photos now in the current immerGallery version. Use Modify Image > Expert > Swap Left/Right. This will be fixed in the next update. Video playback for Samsung Spatial Video arrives in the next update as well.

Photos are .heic at 4000×3000 pixels per eye. The sample Spatial Videos are 1920×1080 per eye. (Can this be changed to 4K per eye?)

The second eye view is generated from a crop of the ultrawide lens, same as on iPhones. This can reduce sharpness and color match, and flares may not align as well as with two identical lenses.

The small 18.3 mm lens spacing reduces perceived 3D depth, similar to current iPhones. Xreal Beam Pro, with two identical lenses at 50 mm, delivers stronger depth and better left/right consistency. It may take time for other major smartphone makers to adopt that approach, but it would be desirable for high quality stereoscopic content.

Nevertheless, once Samsung rolls out 3D capture to additional Galaxy models, millions of new creators can start making stereoscopic memories, which is great for VR content.

Thanks to (SammyGuru) for samples from his Galaxy S25 Ultra.

immerGallery 1.3.7 is out! Our virtual reality media player now supports UPnP video, so in addition to SMB, you can stream local video files from your NAS directly into your virtual reality headset.

As a bonus, we’ve included a fantastic video by immersive media expert Hugh Hou, comparing 16K VR180 footage from the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive with the Canon R5 + 5.2mm VR lens.

To ensure top image quality, the full 6 GB file can be downloaded in-app with a single click.

The 3D camera on Quest 3 through the Meta Camera Passthrough API has been significantly improved! Previously, there were some visible artifacts in the captured frames. Thankfully, Meta addressed this in the latest update and the improvement in clarity is very apparent.

The 3D camera mode in immerGallery allows users to capture both stereoscopic photos and videos. An electronic level is overlayed to help ensure horizontal alignment during capture. This is particularly useful for stereoscopic media, where even small roll angles can noticeably degrade the perceived 3D quality.

Thanks to the Meta Quest Passthrough Camera API, you can now easily use the 3D camera of your VR headset in immerGallery! Record spatial photos and spatial videos with a single click. Then enjoy watching them directly inside the app!

Quality-wise, it does not replace a dedicated 3D camera. But the resolution and frame rate may increase through a future Meta SDK update.

Capturing immersive memories like this is easy, is a lot of fun -- and you have all the required hardware already in your VR headset.

Be creative and get immerGallery now!

Your immersive VR media player immerGallery 1.3.4 features now SMB Video Playback! If you are running out of space on your Meta Quest headset, you can now stream videos directly from your local network instead. SMB is widely supported. On Windows, just right-click a folder, go to "Properties" → "Share", and you’re set. On Linux, a simple smbd server gets you going. Most NAS devices support it out of the box.

The updates in immerGallery 1.3.4:
• SMB video playback with format detection
• Option to delete SMB videos directly
• Sort your best images easier: In Local Gallery and SMB Gallery, use "..." - "Copy favorites into new subfolder" to easily extract your best images
• Need your network media offline? Copy SMB content into Local Gallery (with optional subfolder structure)
• Free relaxing music pack added under MP3 Player
• Optimizations for Kandao QooCam 3 Ultra and Q3U VR180 mod
