Samsung Galaxy Spatial Photos and Spatial Videos test in immerGallery on Quest 3.
You can view the Samsung Spatial Photos now in the current immerGallery version. Use Modify Image > Expert > Swap Left/Right. This will be fixed in the next update. Video playback for Samsung Spatial Video arrives in the next update as well.
Photos are .heic at 4000×3000 pixels per eye. The sample Spatial Videos are 1920×1080 per eye. (Can this be changed to 4K per eye?)
The second eye view is generated from a crop of the ultrawide lens, same as on iPhones. This can reduce sharpness and color match, and flares may not align as well as with two identical lenses.
The small 18.3 mm lens spacing reduces perceived 3D depth, similar to current iPhones. Xreal Beam Pro, with two identical lenses at 50 mm, delivers stronger depth and better left/right consistency. It may take time for other major smartphone makers to adopt that approach, but it would be desirable for high quality stereoscopic content.
Nevertheless, once Samsung rolls out 3D capture to additional Galaxy models, millions of new creators can start making stereoscopic memories, which is great for VR content.
Thanks to (SammyGuru) for samples from his Galaxy S25 Ultra.
