Eid al-Fitr may have been a few days ago - but at EKF we took this Monday to celebrate the end of Ramadan together. We surprised our Muslim colleagues with traditional Arabic sweets and took a moment to share in the joy of this special occasion. 🍯

Yesterday, our development team had the chance to attend an insightful presentation on base materials for printed circuit boards (PCBs). 💡
The session covered the production process, (physical) structure, and characteristics of these essential materials. It was a great reminder for our engineers of the fascinating scale we’re working with.

EKF at DLR - Innovation in the Sky ✈️

Our Business Development Manager Manuel and Hannah from our Marketing recently had the great opportunity to visit the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. -DLR- (German Aerospace Center), where they explored some of the fascinating aircraft used for cutting-edge research. A special highlight was HALO (High Altitude and Long Range Research Aircraft) - a truly unique platform for atmospheric measurements and scientific missions.
We are proud that EKF will deliver three Quick-Look-Systems (QL) for the Basic HALO Measurement and Sensor System (BAHAMAS) aboard this remarkable aircraft.
The Quick Look serves as a vital interface between HALO’s internal aircraft systems (from cockpit to basic measurement systems) and the external campaign measurement systems onboard.

✔️ With QL, basic measurement system data - including ARINC and ASCB-D avionics bus data - is processed in real time and flows seamlessly between internal and external campaign measurement equipment, delivering in situ quick-look data to scientists and their campaign instruments in the cabin and on the ground.

This technology ensures HALO’s measurement missions run smoothly, securely, and efficiently and we are thrilled to contribute to advancing aerospace research.

Summer Event 2025 ☀️

Yesterday, we enjoyed a fantastic summer event with sunshine, great energy, and lots of team spirit!
Six different groups took on the Scavenger Hunt challenge – and we’re happy that all teams reached the goal, with one emerging as the winner! 🏆

Afterward, we celebrated with a delicious buffet and shared laughs in the sunshine.
A special thank you to the five colleagues from our partner company Ci4Rail who joined us – it was great having you here!

Yesterday, our developer had the opportunity to take an exciting look behind the scenes at one of our PCB suppliers in Berlin - and one thing is clear:
Germany remains our chosen location.

Between machines, materials and a lot of know-how, we once again saw how important regional production and strong partnerships are for our quality and security of supply.
