KubaParis KUBAPARIS - Zeitschrift für junge Kunst KUBAPARIS is an online platform for contemporary art and is curated by the graphic design studio Studio Saskia Hoefler.

We promote emerging artists and culture in providing a larger audience—a platform that discovers, promotes and exhibits art online. Accompanying interviews and editorials, we offer a submission based blog and Instagram. In addition, we publish a weekly newsletter with current submissions and recommendations.

What can 400,000 wooden cubes become?

A landscape. A stage. A hill. A place to gather, build, sing and start all over again.

For „We Make Years Out of Hours“, Lina Lapelytė has filled the Historic Hall of Hamburger Bahnhof with 400,000 wooden cubes, turning sculpture into something that is never quite finished. Performers and visitors move the blocks, build temporary structures and reshape the space while voices fill the hall with texts about community, love, loss and hope.

We loved experiencing the work as KUBAPARIS: wandering through this constantly changing landscape, watching structures appear and disappear, and being reminded that sometimes the most interesting part of an artwork is what happens between people.

„We Make Years Out of Hours“ is on view at Hamburger Bahnhof until 10 January 2027.

We went to the stars at the Arp Museum

For our latest KUBAPARIS Visit, we explored „To the Stars! Inner Longing and Outer Space“, an exhibition bringing together around 100 works from modernism to the present. From Max Ernst and Man Ray to Katharina Sieverding, Yael Bartana and Emma Talbot, the show looks at space as a projection screen for dreams, fears, utopias and the desire to escape the world we know.

We’ve been there, picked our highlights and brought them together for you. If you’re anywhere near the Rhine, this is one to put on your list.

*AD When the familiar starts to look strange.
After the summer break, „Stillleben mit Gemüse“ by Elmgreen & Dragset at the is an exhibition to take your time with.

Their sculptures and installations slip into unexpected places throughout the museum, creating strange, sometimes surreal encounters with works from more than 700 years of the Städel’s collection. A familiar room suddenly feels different. A seemingly ordinary scene starts to look staged. And somewhere between reality and illusion, you find yourself looking twice.

We loved wandering through the installations as KUBAPARIS, never quite knowing what we would encounter next and letting ourselves be surprised again and again.

„Stillleben mit Gemüse“ is on view at the Städel Museum until 17 January 2027.

*AD California Dreaming with Frank Gehry
KUBAPARIS was invited to experience Mindset Los Angeles at Marta Herford, an exhibition tracing the cultural landscape of Los Angeles through Frank Gehry’s early projects and the work of his friends and fellow artists of the time.

From the experimental spirit of the Cool School to painting, sculpture, photography, furniture, and architecture, the exhibition captures a California shaped by freedom, consumer culture, pop, and the dream of a different way of living.

Walking through the exhibition, we got a sense of the energy and contradictions that defined Los Angeles in the 1960s and 70s, and of how deeply this particular California state of mind continues to resonate today.
