Hello,
after much consideration, we've decided to separate The Patient from Wait - Extended, and turn it into its own game.
There are multiple reasons for this decision. One being the technical issues that we briefly mentioned in another post,
but also the fact that The Patient has become a much bigger project than we first anticipated, and we feel like it deserves to be its own game.
So many people have put such wonderful work into the project, and we wouldn't want their work to be hidden within an 8 year old game.
That way, it will also be possible for The Patient to have its own demo, achievements, trading cards, community hub, and so on.

That being said, the Steam store page for The Patient is now online:

Wait: The Patient is a non-combat mystery horror game, that takes place in the 90s and follows the story of Dr. Alice Fincher. After a new patient arrives in the mental hospital she works in, strange events start to unfold.

Today we released a demo for 'Wait - Extended', which is something that was long overdue.
If you were uncertain whether or not you like the game, you can now check it out for free.

Demo Release Today we released a playable demo of 'Wait - Extended' that let's you play through the first nights of the main story. The demo version is already in version 2.0 which features some new artwork and some quality of life improvements. That being said, the full game still remains in v1.8,....

all the artwork for 'The Patient' is almost finished and we are soon starting to record all the voice actors that go together with the new illustrations. We're very excited, because this gives up the opportunity to convey the story in way more interesting way than before.

Hello everyone,
here's our weekly update.

We don't have a specific topic this week, but rather some general notes.
We have worked on the separate save file system last week, as well as continued the story flow of 'The Patient'.
There is also a psychological aspect that we want to cover, related to the protagonist's profession, for which we got help from people with more expertise on the matter. We hope we can bring this experience, as we imagine it, to life.
On a final note, 'The Patient' will feature a lot more artwork
to help you feel closer to the events.

And on a truly final note, we wanted to share the title menu track for 'The Patient' with you, to give you a glimpse of the story's atmosphere.

Here's our weekly update.
This time we want to talk about how 'The Patient' is implemented mechanically.
The main story of 'Wait' has a single save slot, which you continue directly out of the title menu.
'The Patient' will have its own save slot, which means you could technically have 2 active saves simultaneously.
Therefore, we decided to add a separate title screen for 'The Patient', from which you can continue (or start) your playthrough for this side story.
That way, your save game for the main story is not affected by your progress in 'The Patient'.
In light of this, the title screen for the main story will be reworked as well.

Hello. Here's our weekly update.

The story that we're currently bringing to life, may not fit directly into the main story,
but it does fit into the timeline, which we are attempting to complete with this update.
There have been a variety of events surrounding the apartment in which 'Wait' takes place,
dating back all the way to the 70s.
With the coming content update, we will place the last piece into the timeline puzzle
and therefore cover all decades prior to the present events.

Here's our weekly update.
The new content for 'Wait' can be started individually and we did that for a few reasons.
One of them being that the events cannot be placed into (or attached to) the main story line like we did with the other sidestories.
And secondly, this is the first story that is not actively witnessed by our main protagonist from the base game.
Therefore, 'The Patient' introduces a new protagonist that will be able to see things from a different perspective.

Alice Fincher is a psychologist in a mental clinic, that players who've advanced further in the base game might know.
We wanted to bring a stark contrast to the pragmatic and somewhat apathetic demeanor of the main game's protagonist.
Dr. Fincher will bring a new perspective to the events of the game and we hope that you enjoy experiencing 'The Patient's events
together with her.

As promised, here is some more info on the Wait - Extended v2.0 update called 'The Patient'.
The biggest addition of this update is a completely new sidestory with the same name that can be started directly from the title menu.
To unlock 'The Patient', you must have at least played through the first invocation (first playthrough) of the main story.
That being said, playing more invocations after that may help to better grasp the experience of this new sidestory.

'The Patient' will take place in the 90s and will feature a new protagonist.

We will gradually release more information about the sidestory as well as updates to the base game.
