WakeMeHere got a new update. Version 2.2 comes with new privacy features regarding Ads and the internal newsletter. But one thing didn't change: WakeMeHere did never and will never collect data from you. We don't care about your data.

Nobody is watching you!

I don't want to know where you are, where you are going and where you want to be woken up. It is just not my cup of tea. WakeMeHere doesn't collect any data on its own.

Regarding the current Data Privacy discussions and the new laws coming into place end of May, I reexamined exactly what data flows into WakeMeHere and who gets a piece of it. As stated above, WakeMeHere stores your data only on your device. That's all. Easy. But unfortunately there are minor exceptions:

I got a lot of emails regarding the missing favorite feature from prehistoric WakeMeHere 1. But if you're like me, managing favorites gets boring, and changing them every time you change your workplace and flat, is just a pain.

Okay. Maybe I am exaggerating a tiny bit, but I wanted to try something new. Introducing "WakeMeHere Brain". WakeMeHere Brain uses a "sophisticated" AI algorithm called "k-nearest neighbors" to anticipate what you're going to use WakeMeHere for this time.

WakeMeHere uses your current location (obviously, duh), the time of the day and the current weekday to place you on a 7-dimensional map. That's hard to imagine, but this is the idea for now. All your previous sessions with WakeMeHere (starting with version 2.1) are placed on this map as well. What WakeMeHere basically does, is to look around for the nearest instance of a prior session and suggests the wake-up location you used back then to you.

Anyway, I hope it works out and is a great help. It's still a little experimental, so if you find some bugs or interesting behaviors, just let me know!
